King Charles’ Tough Stance on Non-Working Royals May Affect Duke and Duchess of Sussex Titles

The Royal Family is once again in the spotlight as King Charles takes a hardline stance on non-working Royals.

According to reports, may have to leave the Royal Lodge as his $249,000 grant is set to be cut from April, leaving him struggling to afford the upkeep.

In addition, all members of the Royal Family have been told to tighten their belts and expect less money from the Duchy of Lancaster, which is the Sovereign's private income.

This move by King Charles could have serious implications for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

As a Royal commentator said, Charles could use his tougher approach to strong arm them into no longer using their titles.

If he and Meghan continue to use their titles to profit from criticizing the firm, Charles may be forced to make a move.

This could have serious implications for their money-making ability in the years to come.

An act of Parliament would be needed for either Andrew or Harry to lose their titles officially.

However, a poll conducted by the Mirror found that 95% of respondents were in favor of the Sussexes having their titles revoked.

If Charles is willing to come down hard on Andrew, that leaves Harry and Meghan without their “What About Andrew” safety net.

Daniela Iser, writing in New Zealand Herald, suggested if His Majesty is willing to come down hard on Andrew, then that leaves Harry and Meghan without their safety net.

She also adds that if Harry and Meghan continue to use their titles to profit from criticizing the firm, Charles will be forced to make a move.

Without Charles reportedly poised to trim Andrew's sails and crack down on his royal perks, this could represent quite the ill wind for Harry and Meghan, right at a point in time when their US careers would seem to be at something of a crossroads.

In spite of their rift with the family, the Sussexes will be invited to the coronation of the King and Queen Consort on May 6th, as revealed by reporters.

However, it's not known if Harry and Meghan will accept, as they are concerned about the reaction from the British public.

If they decide not to attend, it may be perceived as a snub.

Harry stated in his interviews he wishes to reconcile with his family, and wants discussions to be had in private, but tensions between the family and Sussexes still high.

It remains to be seen how this latest development will play out.

The public will be watching closely to see how King Charles' new approach to non-working roles will affect the wider family and the monarchy as a whole.
