Meghan and Harry Could Lose Frogmore Cottage as King Charles Considers Major Palace Changes

and could be stripped of their ownership of Frogmore Cottage as King Charles deliberates over what to do with royal residences across Britain.

The new king is contemplating major changes to the palaces, which could have serious implications for Harry, Meghan, and .

Charles is set to deal with the palace merry-go-round as he decides where he will live and who will get the keys to other properties.

After ascending to the throne, King Charles is now essentially the landlord of a whole host of properties.

Buckingham Palace is the traditional headquarters of the monarch, but it is understood that the new king is not a fan of the vast palace and may simply use it as an office.

He is believed to be very keen on using nearby Clarence House, which has served as his official residence since 2003, as his home.

While he could use Buckingham Palace for work and banquets, receptions, and investitures, Clarence House may still function as his London residence.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could be booted out of Frogmore Cottage following their permanent move to the US.

Harry and Meghan moved into the Georgian house in April 2019, a month before baby was born, and after extensive renovations were completed.

Their five-bedroom property, a gift from the Queen, was said to have required a substantial overhaul before they were able to move in, including new heating, wiring, and utilities.

But less than a year later, the couple announced they would be stepping back from their duties as senior members of the royal family.

They spent six weeks in Canada between November 2019 and January 2020 before settling down in the US.

Harry and Meghan splashed out more than £11.5 million or $19.5 million Australian dollars on a beautiful mansion in the Montecito neighborhood in Santa Barbara, California in June 2020.

Looks like and are potentially about to add yet another home to their growing list of properties.

The Sun reports that King Charles has earmarked Frogmore House for the new Prince and Princess of Wales, though it remains to be seen if they'll move in.

The house, really it's a full-blown mansion, was built in 1684 on the Windsor estate and if it sounds familiar that might be because it was the location of and 's wedding reception.

Frogmore House is fully different from their home Frogmore Cottage, which is nearby and also on the Windsor estate.

Reminded that William and Kate literally just moved from their country home Anmer Hall to Adelaide Cottage and apparently they aren't super thrilled about the prospect of moving again now that Charles is king and a royal property reshuffle is taking place.

The Prince of Wales, now King Charles, strongly believes that these places have to go to deliver something for the public beyond just being somewhere for members of the royal family to live.

Everything is seen through the lens of the question what value is this offering to the public?

Everybody recognizes it makes no sense to run so many residences but if you give them up entirely you will never get them back when and their younger royals grow up and need somewhere to live.
