Rory McIlroy and Meghan Markle: The Rumoured Romance

Rumours have been circulating for years about a possible romance between Irish golfer Rory McIlroy and former actress Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex.

According to author Emily Herbert in her book Harry and Meghan, The Love Story, the two were spotted together in Dublin, enjoying dinner and sparking rumours of a blossoming romance.

One piece of evidence that fuelled the rumours was their joint participation in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in 2014.

McIlroy nominated Markle for the challenge, and she accepted on the condition that he pour the ice water over her.

The video was posted on Markle's Instagram account, and the two appeared to be quite comfortable with each other.

However, it turns out that Markle was already in a relationship with a Canadian chef at the time of her dinner with McIlroy.

The couple had been together for several months but had kept their relationship out of the spotlight.

The chef even flew to Ireland to be with Markle during her work with One Young World, and they were reportedly “loved up” behind the scenes.

McIlroy, on the other hand, has been linked to several women since ending his engagement to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki in May 2014.

He has been seen with Irish models Sasha Gale and Nadia Ford, but has not commented on any romance reports.

Despite the rumours, both McIlroy and Markle have denied any romantic involvement.

They confirmed that they were just friends, and Markle went on to marry Prince Harry in May 2018.

McIlroy also found love and married Erika Stoll in April 2017.

In addition to her rumoured romance with McIlroy, Markle has had several high-profile relationships in the past.

She was previously married to producer Trevor Engelson, but the marriage ended after just 18 months.

She also spent time with Canadian hockey star Michael Del Zotto before finding love with Prince Harry.

As for McIlroy, he recently purchased a house in his native Hollywood, County Down, after selling his former Northern Ireland home in Monterrey.

The estate boasted five bedrooms, a gymnasium, and a golf practice area complete with a putting green and driving range.

McIlroy also has a luxury mansion in Florida.

While the rumours of a romance between McIlroy and Markle may have been unfounded, they continue to fascinate fans and followers alike.

As for their current relationships, both seem to be happy and in love with their respective partners.
