Kate Middleton’s Interior Design Choices at Anmer Hall

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been living in their country residence, Anmer Hall, since 2015.

The 10-bedroom Georgian property is located on the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk, and was gifted to the couple by Her Majesty as a wedding present.

Kate Middleton took on the project of refurbishing the property for two years before the family moved in.

Let's take a closer look at the interior design choices made by the Duchess.

Architect Charles Morris worked on the remodeling of the property, adding a garden room to the house.

Meanwhile, interior designer Ben Petreath oversaw the decor.

He encouraged Kate to be more experimental with color, which led to the emerald green dining room.

However, the rest of the home has a softer, more traditional vibe.

Kate went shopping for floor coverings at Cotswold Oriental Rugs, where she purchased a few Turkish kilims that have a flat tapestry weave.

She was looking for things for the bedrooms, so she wanted softer pastel shades rather than strong colors.

It seems that Kate's love of blue doesn't end with her wardrobe, as she picked up blue towels and blue gingham hangers at Zara Home.

One of the sales assistants revealed that Kate definitely likes blue, as everything she seemed to look at was blue, but not for babies.

She must just like the color.

One of the more personal rooms in the house is seen in a picture released to mark Princess Charlotte's first birthday.

The light, pale color scheme suggests that it's a brave parent who opts for shades of cream for the carpet, walls, and corner sofa when there are two young children tearing around.

Other items of note are the pretty floor-length cream drapes with blue-gray print in the pink and white chivari chair.

Another glimpse into the interior of Anmer Hall is seen in pictures released to mark Princess Charlotte's six-month birthday.

This armchair is covered in vintage effect blue and cream gingham fabric from luxury upholsterers Brunschwig & Phils.

It's a miniature throne fit for a princess.

In another picture released to mark Princess Charlotte's first birthday, we perhaps got a glimpse into another room at Anmer Hall.

This one has a pink pattern rug, a deep-faded cream and beige striped low-backed sofa piled with mix-and-match cushions, and of course a mini princess-size white wicker armchair.

From the pictures released to mark Prince George's third birthday and a comment made by Kate at a public engagement earlier this year, we have an idea of what the Anmer Gardens are like too.

A simple rope swing hanging from a tree with William and Catherine engraved on the wooden plank seat is thought to have been a wedding present from Kate's parents.

In another shot, Georgian-English cuck or Spaniel Lupell shared a planned travel rug.

The Cambridges even have a brood of chickens, adding to the fantastic country feel of their home.
