Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is known for her elegance and poise, but she had an embarrassing moment at a polo event with Prince Harry.

The awkward encounter was caught on camera as Prince Harry and his teammates raised trophies at the Californian event.

Meghan, 40, appeared to try to take a small trophy off one of Harry's fellow polo players, but he didn't let go.

She was then obscured as he and a teammate lifted a larger trophy over her head while she applauded and clutched her hat.

Another said the players didn't know where to put her and ended up blocking her with the trophy.

In the video, Meghan can be seen putting on an awkward smile as she takes a step back and claps to congratulate Harry on the win.

The players lift the heavy cup above her head, and she holds onto her sun hat and steps back to the center of the stage for a photo-op.

After the kiss, Meghan pulls down the brim of her hat and moves to Harry's left as he turns away.

She then lingers and touches his arm in a bid to get his attention before reaching up to his face.

As he turns, she uses her thumb to wipe a lipstick mark off his mouth.

Harry briefly appears to jolt his head back before raising an eyebrow.

He can then be seen putting his arm around his wife and courteously moving her to the middle of the group for a photo.

Social media users questioned why none of the other Polo Wags had been invited onto the podium.

The Duchess of Sussex stayed at the center of the stage while the Polo team players had to lift the trophy above her head during a photo-op, viewers found it awkward and uncomfortable to watch.

He and Meghan were filmed sharing a kiss at a charity match in support of several good causes, including Heal the Ocean and Calm 4 Kids.

Meghan wore white summer shorts, a polka dot blouse, and a belt as she went to the ground to support her husband.

She matched Harry, who was also wearing traditional white shorts for the game.
