Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Future Political Influence in Doubt

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's ability to establish important political relationships may be at risk within the next few years, according to royal author and expert Robert Jobson.

As the couple steps away from the royal family to pursue commercial ventures, they are losing the kudos that comes with their status as members of the British monarchy.

Whilst discussing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent trip to New York, Jobson warned that their fame may not last beyond five years, putting their ability to form relationships with senior political figures in jeopardy.

Speaking to GB News, Jobson said, “Basically they were given the stage, they were given the platform by the mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio wanted to treat them very well, they published their schedule with the New York mayor.

This is after all the couple who wanted to escape, had a very good platform with members of the royal family, but it seems to me they wanted it all on their own terms.”

Despite their desire to navigate their influential status on their own terms, Harry and Meghan have faced criticism for allegedly behaving like opportunists during their New York trip.

Royal writer and author Daniela Elza claimed that the couple used the trip to boost their profile and popularity in the US, writing in News.o, “This is the opening move in their campaign to establish their new, shiny stateside public identities and to try to carve out a place for themselves in the national firmament.”

Elza also argued that Meghan's costume changes during the trip made it feel less like a monarchical outing and more like a marketing opportunity.

Sky News Australian News host Andrew Bolt has also criticized the couple for their behavior during the trip, claiming that it was self-serving and reminiscent of a royal tour.

Bolt questioned why Prince Harry was even there, given his recent comments about not wanting to be treated like a royal.

He also pointed out that Meghan's wardrobe choices and orchestrated meetings with dignitaries made the trip feel like a royal tour, despite their desire to distance themselves from the monarchy.

As Harry and Meghan continue to pursue commercial ventures and establish their new identities in the US, their future political influence remains uncertain.

While they may still have the ability to make an impact as a famous couple, Jobson's warning suggests that this may not last indefinitely.
