William and Kate Inherit £1.1 Billion After Queen’s Death

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have inherited a staggering £1.1 billion after the death of the Queen.

The couple was also promoted to the roles of Prince and Princess of Wales, along with being given the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall titles, and a vast portfolio of land.

The death of Her Majesty on Thursday, September 8, saw her son Prince Charles take on the role of Head of State immediately, becoming King Charles III.

This meant that his previous role of the Prince of Wales was vacant, and he later announced that his son would take up the title.

He also announced that his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton would become the Princess of Wales, the first time the role had been filled since Princess Diana died in a car crash in 1997.

With new job titles comes an increase in wealth, not that the couple were short of cash to start with.

Prince William was already estimated to be worth around £34 million, but now he is thought to be worth a whopping £1.1 billion, purely down to the new job titles.

The couple, as well as being the Prince and Princess of Wales, are also the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall.

The addition of Cornwall to the titles means they inherit a stonkingly huge portfolio of land and assets associated with the names.

According to various sources, they now own around 128,000 acres of land spanning across 20 counties in England and Wales, parts of which include Dartmoor National Park.

They also own a prison in Dartmoor, parts of Devon, Kent, Dorset, Carmarthen Shear, and Nottinghamshire.

Although William is a huge football fan, supporting Aston Villa, he now owns the oval cricket ground used by Surrey County Cricket Club on a regular basis.

And in case the couple fancy going shopping for some new garden apparel, they also own a garden centre in Lostwith Eel in Cornwall.

The couple now owns many forests and rivers, too, so they will have no trouble finding a quiet place to go should they want to get away from the madness of being given the new royal titles.

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla will likely move from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace.

And it looks like Prince William and Kate Middleton could move as well, despite the fact that they just relocated from their country home Anmer Hall to Adelaide Cottage.

According to the Daily Mail, there is a radical drive to overhaul the vast royal estate, which includes moving the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge into Windsor Castle proper.

As the outlet puts it, Charles's wide-ranging plans include turning Balmoral into a museum to the Queen and moving the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge into Windsor Castle.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew is apparently anxious about his home in Windsor, while his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie will be vying for accommodation in the reshuffle.

The Prince of Wales, now King Charles, strongly believes that these places have got to deliver something for the public beyond just being somewhere for members of the royal family to live.

“Everything is seen through the lens of the question, what value is this offering to the public?”

a source said.

“Everybody recognises it makes no sense to run so many residences but if you give them up entirely, you will never get them back when Prince George and the Younger Royals grow up and need somewhere to live.”
