Prince Harry’s Orange Outfit Sparks Criticism

, the Duke of Sussex, has come under fire from royal fans for his latest publicity stunt.

The 37-year-old donned a bright orange hat, sunglasses and shirt in a video clip he released to promote the upcoming Invictus Games, an international sporting event for wounded members of the armed forces.

The video shows him mastering phrases in Dutch before ripping off his hoodie to expose the colourful outfit and pointing to the camera to say he is ready for the Games.

However, his followers took to Twitter to criticise the Prince for what they saw as a tacky and devaluing stunt.

One user posted, “Is Harry plugging Fenton Orange now?

You can tell his wife is directing him as it just reeks of complete tackiness.

Trending:

The devaluing continues.”

Another user joked, “Just a matter of time before they are the new Kardashians,” while a third simply wrote, “He has really lost the plot.” A social media user even wondered whether Harry was making fun of the Royal Family of the Netherlands, as orange is the colour of royalty there.

Despite the mocking reaction from some, others swooned over Harry's style in the video.

One fan cooed, “I love sweatpants on a well-built man.

The fitted t-shirt was the icing on the cake.

Forget about a snack, Harry is looking like a five-course meal, at a five-star Michelin rated restaurant, of course.”

However, the video attracted more criticism as it was released just hours after the announcement that Harry wouldn't travel to the UK for Prince Philip's Thanksgiving service this month.

A source said, “It is such a shame that he will miss his grandfather's memorial service.

It was supposed to be a time for the family to all come together to remember a great man.

It was also hoped that the Queen would meet his daughter for the first time, and that would make it even more of a special occasion.

Now none of that will go ahead, yet he is willing to travel to Holland for the Invictus Games, which is only 300 miles away.

It will certainly raise eyebrows and most probably hurt feelings.”

Royal biographer Angela Levin also criticised Harry's orange stunt, writing, “If Harry thought his orange stunt was funny, it's not.”

Despite the negative reactions, the comedic promotional video showed an unprecedented spike in people searching for tickets to the Invictus Games.

According to an analysis of Google search data, online searches for Invictus Games tickets exploded 837% worldwide on the day the footage was released.

In conclusion, 's latest publicity stunt has divided public opinion.

While some fans were swooning over his style, others criticised him for being tacky and devaluing.

The timing of the video also raised eyebrows, as it was released just hours after the announcement that he would not be attending Prince Philip's Thanksgiving service.

Nevertheless, the video seems to have been effective in promoting the Invictus Games, with a huge spike in online searches for tickets.
