Diana’s Shocking Feud with Her Stepmother Reign Spencer: A New Documentary Reveals All
The tumultuous relationship between Princess Diana and her stepmother Reign Spencer has been the subject of much speculation over the years.
However, a new documentary titled Diana's Wicked Stepmother has shed light on the shocking depths of their feud, revealing that Diana even pushed Reign down the stairs at one point.
According to the Countess' personal assistant, Diana flew into a rage with Reign for not paying enough attention to her mother Frances's shed kid in the ancestral home.
Reign's personal assistant recalled how she was covered in bruises, saying, “…she was badly bruised and dreadfully upset.
It was not justified at all.
It was a cruel heartless thing to do and I think it was Diana's perception of how Reign was treating Mrs.

Shed Kid.
I think Diana was very stressed.”
Reign Spencer married Diana's father Johnny, the 8th Earl Spencer in July 1976 and was hated by his children, who nicknamed her Acid Reign.
When Earl Spencer slipped into a coma after suffering a stroke in 1978, Reign reportedly kept Diana and her siblings away from the hospital, insisting she should be the only one to take care of him.
However, the two women eventually made amends after Earl Spencer died, with Diana thanking Reign for all the love she had shown Johnny.
Reign was hosting Charles Spencer's wedding at Althorp in 1989 when she came to blows with Diana, who attended with her mother Frances as Shed Kid.
According to royal experts, Diana became frustrated that Reign wasn't being attentive enough to Frances at lunch and flew at her in a rage, which ended with Diana pushing Reign down the stairs.
Royal biographer Ingrid Seward opened up about the incident, saying, “…she had a furious row with Reign because Diana was so upset that her own mother had been ignored in the ancestral home.
She pushed her and Reign fell down the stairs.”
Reign's biographer Angela Levine said, “…Reign was invited to Diana and Princess Charles' wedding but was kept at the back of Westminster Abbey while her parents sat at the front, and when Johnny died in 1992 she was kicked out of Althorp by Charles with her belongings and black bin liners.”
After moving into Althorp, the Spencers' ancestral home, Reign began to redecorate, which included selling antique furniture that had been owned by the family for hundreds of years and gilding picture frames with bright gold paint.
This caused the children to loathe her even more, and they tried to stop her, but their father was scared of not supporting Reign because he needed her so much at every level of his life.
Despite their tumultuous past, the two women eventually reconciled.
After Charles and Diana divorced in 1996, Diana made the surprising move of inviting Reign to dinner at Kensington Palace.
Diana was fully aware of what she was doing, she knew that this was a U-turn day, she knew the Spencer family would not be very happy but she couldn't care less because she thought it was time Reign came back.
Diana was said to have started crying, thanking Reign for the love she had shown her father when he was alive, and the two women hugged.
For the last year of Diana's life, the pair remained very close and spoke on the telephone every morning.
Before Diana died in Paris in 1997, Reign died in October 2016 following a short battle with cancer.
In conclusion, the documentary provides a fascinating insight into the complex relationship between Princess Diana and her stepmother Reign Spencer.
Despite their bitter feud, the two women ultimately found common ground and were able to put aside their differences for the sake of family.
