Prince Harry to Speak at Wired Summit on Internet Disinformation

, the Duke of Sussex, is set to speak at an event organized by Wired magazine next week.

The Duke, who is currently living in his $14 million mansion in California after stepping back from royal duty last year, will participate in a session at the Rewired Summit on November 9.

His session is called the Internet lie machine, which focuses on the rise of digital propaganda and online hatred.

The event's description reads, “As social media algorithms reward shock value over reality, as the line between fact and fiction weakens every day, as media propaganda and online hatred run rampant, we must ask, How did we get here and how do we get out of this mess?”

The session will hear from an expert authority on the rise of digital propaganda, a foremost civil rights advocate who understands the collision between misinformation and racial justice, and a global leader who is taking on misinformation in pursuit of a new era of truth.

However, a royal commentator mocked 's decision to participate in this conversation about online disinformation.

Trending:

The commentator queried whether the Duke of Sussex would be joined by his wife and US chat show host , in a jibe that references the tell-all interview the couple participated in back in March.

During the bombshell interview, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a series of explosive claims about their time as members of the royal family, but the monarchy made clear they did not agree with all of the Sussexes' version of events.

The news immediately sparked a wave of criticism.

One reader commented, “This woman is very delusional and appears to have some kind of issues.

If what we are hearing about the fights and temper with her mother, and the attacks on Harry, those children, if they are at that home need to be checked and someone should really get a welfare check on them.”

Another added, “Markle's PR team is desperate to keep Markle in the newspaper.

Markle does not qualify to shine the president's shoes.

It takes more than a briefcase girl on a cable TV show to become president.

This woman has more issues than a regular narcissist.”

Despite launching renewed attacks on the media, Prince Harry has continued to speak to outlets he and Meghan like, including giving extensive interviews to celebrity friends Dax Shepard and .

His latest appearance comes weeks after he used a live video message to launch an assault on the media and lecture on inequality in a surprise speech to VIPs including Piers Morgan hours after the ex-GMB host won a thumping victory for free speech over Meghan.

Prince Harry's session at the Rewired Summit will be among the three speakers at the event, alongside Byron A. DeResta, technical research manager at the Stanford Internet Observatory, and Rashad Robinson, co-chair of the Aspen Commission on Information Disorder and president at Color of Change.

It is unknown what fee the Duke will receive for the appearance.

Last year, experts predicted he and Meghan could earn more than £1 million each time they do a speech after signing up with an elite agency.

The event's description raises the question, “What is the real cost of a lie on the internet, to ourselves, our communities, our societies?”

Prince Harry, introduced as the co-founder of Artual, will be discussing this topic with other experts.

Despite the criticism, Prince Harry remains committed to using his platform to bring attention to important issues.

He has been vocal about the impact of social media and the need for greater accountability in the digital age.

His participation in the Wired Summit is just one example of his ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of online disinformation.

In conclusion, Prince Harry's participation in the Wired Summit on internet disinformation has sparked both criticism and support.
