Prince Louis’ Christening: Carol Middleton’s Top Tips

Following the much-anticipated royal wedding of and , the next big event on the royal calendar is the christening of , which is expected to take place later this month.

The Duchess of Cambridge's mother, Carol Middleton, who is known for her party planning skills, has shared her top tips for a memorable christening in her latest column for Baby London magazine.

According to the Daily Mail, Carol has suggested a themed party, such as Beatrix Potter or Teddy Bear's Picnic, which would be fitting for and Kate, who have a Peter Rabbit-themed nursery for their three young children.

The christening of is set to be an extravagant affair, complete with classical music, silk dresses, and expensive candles, at least if Carol gets her way.

She believes that a decent christening party should cost around £2,000, not including the essentials.

She recommends creating a time capsule box and asking guests to place handwritten notes, photographs, or trinkets inside for the baby to receive on their 18th birthday.

When it comes to the gown, Carol suggests that the baby should wear a silk gown from Monsoon costing £125.

However, it is expected that Prince Louis will wear the same Honiton lace and white satin gown worn by his older siblings, and .

Carol also suggests showering the baby with luxurious gifts, such as an English trousseau piggy bank from Harrods costing £49.95, a Philippa Herbert plaster cast of the baby's feet for £565, a Meminio leather memory case for £125, or a stuffed teddy bear for £36.

To thank guests for their efforts, Carol advises giving them gifts, including votive candles, pretty chocolates, and silver charms to take home.

No party would be complete without a theme, and Carol recommends buying Beatrix Potter or Teddy Bear's Picnic decorations from her website, Party Pieces.

She also suggests hiring a classical harpist or singer for the afternoon, which can cost up to £300.

It's clear that Carol Middleton is keen to make Prince Louis' christening a day to remember, with lavish decorations, luxurious gifts, and plenty of entertainment.

Her suggestions are sure to inspire parents looking to create a memorable christening celebration for their own children.

Prince Louis, who was born in April, is expected to be baptised later this month.
