Princess Beatrice Weds Edo in Private Ceremony

, the granddaughter of , quietly wed property developer Edo in a small ceremony at All Saints Chapel in Windsor on July 17th.

The couple had initially planned a grand wedding in London this spring, but it was cancelled due to the global pandemic.

The ceremony was attended by about 20 guests, including the bride and groom's siblings and parents, as well as the bride's grandparents, and Prince Philip.

Despite its smaller size, the wedding was no less royal, with the Queen lending Beatrice the same tiara she wore at her own wedding in 1947, as well as an exclusive design of a wedding dress that belonged to the monarch.

In an unprecedented display of generosity, the bride's grandmother made every effort to ensure that her granddaughter's wedding was an occasion to remember.

One day after the wedding, the newlyweds shared four stunning photos of their flower-filled day.

According to Judy James, the author of the Body Language Bible, the scaled-back wedding may have allowed the couple a more natural wedding.

She explained that royal weddings are often so top-heavy in terms of protocol that any moments of genuine intimacy and fun-loving body language are often lost.

However, the pared-down event allowed the couple to be lost in their own bubble of love together, and their signals as a couple could be far fresher and more natural than usual.

Even the Queen was able to go into loving and supportive granny mode, leaning forward from the correct social distance to throw a warm, beaming smile at the couple as they posed for photos.

Beatrice wore two extraordinary pieces on loan from the closet of her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth – a vintage ivory peau de soie taffeta dress by Norman Hardinell, the designer who famously crafted Elizabeth's wedding gown, and the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, which was worn by the Queen on her 1947 wedding day to Prince Philip.

The newlyweds confirmed their happy news on July 17th but postponed sharing the photos until the next day to avoid overshadowing Captain Tom Moore, who was knighted on July 17th.

The stunning photos show Beatrice and Edo posing standing in the flower-adorned arch of the Royal Chapel of All Saints, in the grounds of the bride's parents' home of Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

One of the photos shows the Queen and Prince Philip standing at a suitable social distance from the happy couple.

Overall, the private ceremony allowed Beatrice and Edo to enjoy their special day without the usual huge lineup of relatives to worry about.

The couple looked relaxed and happy, and their sweet body language signals suggested a like-minded thinking.

The wedding may have been smaller than initially planned, but it was no less royal and unforgettable for the newlyweds.
