Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Popularity Takes A Hit Following NYC Visit

and 's popularity has taken a massive hit since their visit to New York City, according to recent YouGov polls.

Royal commentator Guy Martin has offered a potential explanation for this decline in their standing.

Forbes columnist Guy Martin wrote that Brits no longer believe the royal, stating that “Harry is tanking in the polls in Britain…the reason he's tanking is that the British have stopped believing what he says.”

It's not just the fact of his ungainly exit from royal life, although that has been a wounding process and continues to be one.

The September YouGov polls suggest the Sussexes' positive opinion dropped by 43% to a staggering 34%.

According to Mr Martin, their work requires a tremendous amount of wheel spinning.

He continued, “The spike downwards for Harry is partly a result of the couple's flailing in all sorts of, admittedly admirable, charitable, directions at once, their engagement in mental health initiatives, pandemic relief, child welfare, among others, across a wide variety of platforms.

In a word, there's a tremendous amount of wheel spinning required to get all these well-meant initiatives off the ground, as there would naturally be.

But, things are a bit helter-skelter.”

and Meghan's recent New York trip is expected to have helped boost their profile in the US.

However, royal expert Gertrude Daly claims that Prince Harry and Meghan need to put their words into action if they are going to preach about climate change and ride on private jets.

The explosive statement comes after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were snapped landing in California on their private jet following their whirlwind three-day trip to New York City.

Harry and Meghan were pictured leaving the lavish jet and affectionately embracing members of staff who had travelled with them on the trip.

Gertrude Daly, who runs the Gerts Royal podcast, claims the couple need to back up their tough words on climate change not just when it is convenient or by throwing money at it.

Daly told a paper, “If you are going to preach about climate change you need to put your words into action.

They don't need to go full gratitude beg and refuse to travel by plane.

But they should do the inconvenient thing and travel commercial every once in a while.”

The royal expert has also called out the couple's excuse of paying for the carbon offsets during every trip.

Paying for the carbon offsets isn't an excuse either or a get-out-of-jail-free card, she said.

It just comes across as out of touch, as if there are different rules for the wealthy.

Gertrude claims that generally one of the reasons members of the royal family use private jets is for luxury, and other reasons are, in her view, just an excuse.

She told, “People may use security, privacy, or logistics as an excuse, but taking a private jet is a luxury.

It is not usually a necessity.”

This is not the first time the couple has come under fire for lavish trips in the sky.

Back in 2019, Prince Harry responded to criticism about his and Meghan's private jet trips with the statement, “No one is perfect.”

The Duke and Duchess reportedly took four private jet journeys in 11 days during that summer.

Speaking back then, Harry said, “Came here by commercial, I spend 99% of my life traveling the world by commercial.

Occasionally there needs to be an opportunity based on a unique circumstance to ensure that my family is safe, it's generally as simple as that.”

In conclusion, Prince Harry and 's popularity has taken a significant hit following their visit to New York City, as Brits no longer believe the royal.
