Meghan Markle Facing Depression After Piers Morgan’s Ofcom Win

Former Brexit MEP Anne Widdecombe has expressed her joy at Ofcom clearing Piers Morgan against complaints levelled against him over .

The free speech champion said Meghan has had a dreadful influence on and welcomed the Ofcom ruling as the Duchess needed cutting down to size.

Back in March, Mr Morgan departed from Good Morning Britain following huge backlash after he questioned the legitimacy of 's claims during the interview.

The day after the interview aired, Mr Morgan rejected Meghan's mental health worries stating he did not believe a word she said and said her attacks on the Royal Family were contemptible.

A record 58,000 complaints were then sent to Ofcom with one reportedly from the Duchess of Sussex herself.

However, the media regulator rejected all of the complaints stating they did not want to stifle national debate but made it clear they did not necessarily agree with the points made.

Speaking to a source, Ms Widdecombe was asked her thoughts on the decision.

She said, “Oh I'm cheering, cheering, I have tried to keep my express column as much as I can a Sussex free zone because they thrive on the publicity.

But I'm making an exception on this occasion because I'm positively cheering.

I think it is high time Meghan was cupped down to size, I think she's had the most dreadful influence on Harry.”

Ms Widdecombe then turned her eyes to the Sussexes' general attitude and took aim at their victim mentality.

She added, “But on a more serious note, I think Harry is very damaging to the royals, he must be personally very hurtful to the Queen.

And I think they should keep quiet, I mean they are privileged beyond belief and they moan that they will cut off financially.

What a joke, 11 million dollars California mansion, and it's just unbelievable.

They are privileged, they are professional victims, they are professional whingers and having said that they wanted privacy they've done nothing except publicise every last detail of life.”

Ms Widdecombe concluded, “In the end, many people will simply laugh at the couple.”

Meanwhile, Piers Morgan clearly has no intention of putting an end to his apparent feud with Meghan Markle as he claimed his new job will be a nightmare for the Duchess of Sussex.

Yesterday, after months of teasing, Piers finally confirmed his new gig after an explosive exit from Good Morning Britain off the back of comments made about Meghan in March.

Now with his new gig, after the global deal was announced on Thursday in which Piers will head back to News UK and launch a new TV show with TalkTV in early 2022, and present a series of true crime documentaries, he's got his boxing gloves back on.

Celebrating his news at his beloved Scarsdale Tavern, in Kensington, Piers told The Sun, “And I need to say a special thank you Meghan.

As we sit drinking now, it was five years ago I met her here.

And I bet she was sitting there celebrating my departure from Good Morning Britain so this move will be the stuff of nightmares for her.

So cheers Meghan.

Any excuse.”

Piers still has the support of his former colleagues at GMB, though, with the ITV crew congratulating him on Friday amid the news.

According to his former boss Rupert Murdoch, Piers revealed he's thrilled about his next chapter, which will also see HarperCollins UK sign world rights for Piers's new title and will publish in hardback, audio and digital formats.
