Kate Middleton Gives Camilla Side-Eye During Royal Wedding Speech

During the recent royal wedding of and , a dramatic speech by American bishop Most Reverend Michael Currie caught the attention of many guests, including and the Duchess of Cornwall.

However, it was not the speech that made headlines, but rather the apparent tension between the two duchesses.

As the bishop delivered his passionate address on the power of love at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, Kate was seen glancing towards twice, giving her a side-eye that amused viewers across the country.

The moment was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media.

One Twitter user commented, “Favourite moment of all favourite moments, Kate giving Constance side-eye.

Yes Kate, yes,” while another said, “Kate's side-eye at Camilla was magnificent.”

A third user added, “The image of giving Camilla the side-eye will forever be burned in my eyeballs.”

Author and journalist Caitlin Moran even predicted that the moment would become “the biggest GIF of all time.”

While some speculated that the tension between the duchesses was due to past rumors of a feud, others pointed out that Kate may have simply been looking downwards to see Camilla due to the position of her hat.

Regardless of the reason for the side-eye, it was not enough to detract from the emotional impact of Reverend Currie's speech.

The bishop, who is the first African-American presiding bishop and primate of the Episcopal Church, opened his 14-minute address with the words of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

“We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love,” he said.

“And when we do that, we will be able to make of this old world a new world.

Love is the only way… There's power in love.

Love can help and heal when nothing else can.
