Kate Middleton’s Fashion Status: The Reason Behind Tension With Meghan Markle

Tension between the Princess of Wales and had been a source of speculation for quite some time.

One of the reasons behind this tension was their shared love for British designer Erdem Moraliglou, with both Kate and Meghan being fans of his high-end fashion brand.

However, rumours have surfaced that the reason why Erdem prioritises orders for Catherine, the Princess of Wales, over those for Meghan may be due to Meghan failing to return a dress that had been loaned to her for the 2017 Invictus Games.

Sources close to the situation have revealed that Erdem had been a favourite designer of Catherine's for quite some time, and that she had even paid for her own dresses from the designer.

These sources have also hinted that Catherine's history of re-wearing Erdem designs may have earned her a discount from the designer, solidifying her status as an unofficial brand ambassador.

However, Meghan's alleged desire for a similar discount or even free clothes from Erdem may have been met with resistance as the designer reportedly made it clear that just because Meghan had been loaned Erdem designs in the past didn't mean she'd be given preferential treatment in the future.

It's worth noting that Catherine's status as a long-standing and paying customer of Erdem's may have played a role in the designer's decision to prioritise her orders.

This, coupled with Catherine's higher profile and likelihood of repeat wearing of the garments, may have made her a more attractive option for the designer.

Despite the rumours surrounding Meghan's failure to return the loaned dress, it should be noted that past behaviour can often predict future behaviour.

Reports have surfaced of Meghan allegedly accidentally walking off with a pair of shoes from a Raimond's photo shoot in 2015, as well as losing jewellery loaned to her during the Australian tour, leading some to question whether or not Meghan has a tendency to keep borrowed items.

It should also be noted that Meghan's actions, if true, would not have been beneficial in terms of her standing in the queue for designer garments.

Catherine's status as a long-standing and paying customer would have likely earned a priority regardless.

The Duke of Sussex told ITV's Tom Bradby that and Kate never expected him to get into a relationship with someone like Meghan, who had a very successful career.

When asked by the journalist exactly why the woman didn't get along, he said it was due to lots of different reasons.

Harry said in the media the narrative quickly became Meghan versus Kate.

In spare, he recounts a clear-the-air meeting in June 2018 between himself and Meghan and William and Kate, inside apartment 1A at Kensington Palace.

Meghan acknowledged the tension among the four of them, Harry writes, before detailing a misunderstanding that had almost passed without notice.

Kate thought that Meghan had wanted a fashion contact, he said, but Meg had her own.

They'd just got off on the wrong foot, perhaps.

Editor-in-chief of Majdhi magazine and royal biographer Ingrid Seward believes that Kate will be upset and angry with Harry for speaking out about her.
