Megan Markle’s Latest Podcast Episode Draws Criticism

Megan Markle, the former actress and now Duchess of Sussex, has come under fire again for her latest podcast episode.

In the episode, which was released yesterday after a three-week break prompted by the death of Queen Elizabeth, Markle discussed the trope known as Dragon Lady with stand-up comedian Margaret Cho and journalist and broadcaster Lisa Ling.

Before delving into the topic, Markle reminisced about growing up in Los Angeles and being exposed to various cultures.

She spoke about her love for getting to know other cultures and recalled going to a Korean spa with her mother, Doria Ragland.

However, her comments about her experiences with Asian culture did not sit well with some listeners.

After the episode was released, one user commented that Megan lies as easily as the rest of us convert oxygen to carbon dioxide.

Other listeners expressed deep offense at Markle's comments, saying that she had ignored whole countries and cultures and stuck to textbook stereotypes.

One listener wrote, “As an Asian, I'm much more offended by her experiences with Asian culture than Kill Bill, Austin Powers and Charlie's Angels put together.”

Another said, “Archetypes are not a substitute word for stereotype, get an effing dictionary Megan.”

Many royal fans also mocked Markle for her spa story, pointing out that it contradicted her previous claims of growing up poor.

One listener wrote, “Wait wait wait, it wasn't long ago she was saying she grew up poor and could only afford 5.99 salads, but she attended a spa on a regular basis?

I guess she was the kind of poor that goes to expensive private schools, has holidays around the world, dance lessons, acting lessons and visits a Korean spa regularly.

I wouldn't mind being that kind of poor.”

Others criticized Markle's appearance and questioned her motivations for marrying Prince Harry.

One listener wrote, “Being told how lucky she was that Harry chose her and responding that she chose him too, wonder whether she'd still have chosen him if he'd been a balding ginger pink complected plumber with close set eyes.

After all, what's there not about a wealthy British prince not to love?

At her age, she in with suits, her only show ending, must have thought all her Christmases had come at once.”

This is not the first time Markle has faced criticism for her comments.

In a previous podcast episode, she spoke about her struggles with mental health and revealed that she had considered suicide while pregnant with her son Archie.
