Duchess of Cambridge Visits Holocaust Exhibition While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Attend Salute to Freedom Gala

To commemorate Remembrance Day, the Duchess of Cambridge visited the Generations portraits of the Holocaust exhibition yesterday.

The exhibition features 50 photographic portraits of Holocaust survivors and their families, including two images captured by the Duchess herself.

It reportedly brought back many memories of the incredible people Kate has met in recent years.

Meanwhile, veteran Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle marked the poignant event in a very different way in the USA.

They attended the Intrepid Museum's Salute to Freedom Gala where Prince Harry presented Intrepid Valour awards to five service members, veterans, and military families living with invisible wounds of war.

Prince Harry wore a medal rack on his tuxedo to the New York event honoring veterans after the palace stripped him of the right to wear military uniform.

While Meghan wore a red Carolina Herrera dress and red shoes to match the high-slit fashion choice.

She had her long locks up into a high bun.

However, many readers think Meghan's dress is completely irrelevant.

One reader wrote, “It's a terrible thing when a red dress eclipses the Holocaust visit by true royalty simply because of who is wearing it, especially when the dress is worn to try to upstage a future Queen consort and inappropriate for the occasion.”

Another added, “Totally inappropriate dress for the occasion.

For an awards ceremony, the outfit should show some class and decorum.

Nothing should be on display, shoulders, arms should be covered.

That dress just shows how inappropriate it is for her to still have a title.”

The third agreed, “Totally inappropriate for the occasion.

Shows a lack of respect, and making it all about her, as usual.

It's amazing how she can make mouth-wateringly expensive designer clothes look tacky and cheap.”

The fourth pointed out, “Trying to upstage Kate but failing yet again as this was not about the dress but the veterans.

Kate's dress was appropriate for the occasion, this was not.”

Harry was stripped of his honorary titles and was reportedly particularly upset to have the rank of Captain General of the Royal Marines taken from him.

Unlike other ex-servicemen in uniform, Harry was wearing a civilian outfit with a navy jacket and trousers as he attended the event held on a converted warship in New York and chatted to former soldiers.

The event is held ahead of Veterans Day in the US and Remembrance Day in the UK.

Harry is a special guest at the event where he will give out medals for the Intrepid Valour Awards to five service members, veterans, and military families who are living with the invisible wounds of war.

One reporter asked Meghan if she was proud of Harry, to which she immediately replied, “I'm always proud of him.”

Harry was then asked, “How's your grandmother?”

to which she smiled and nodded to signal she was doing good after her recent health scares.

Harry went on to give a speech, in which he joked that he was now living the American dream.

“It's wonderful to be back on USS Intrepid a decade after my last visit, and a lot has changed since then,” he said.

“Just last week, I went for a ride on the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile, housed that for living the American dream.”

The museum pays tribute to those in the military who have honored their roles in defending their country.

Harry said, “I've lived in the US for close to two years now.

I have to say, witnessing your support for all those that put themselves in harm's way in defense of our freedoms and liberties, it's remarkable and hugely respected.

It reminds me of the deep reverence us Brits have for our military as well.
