Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth’s Conflict Over Tiara for Royal Wedding

The royal wedding of Prince Harry and in May 2018 was a grand event that captured the attention of millions worldwide.

However, a new book titled “Charles at 70” by Robert Jobson claims that not everything was smooth sailing behind the scenes.

According to the book, there was a conflict between and over the tiara the bride wanted to wear on her special day.

It is no secret that the couple had to deal with numerous familial issues leading up to their wedding.

From threats from step-siblings to a hospitalized father of the bride, there was plenty on their plates.

However, until now, it seemed that the groom's side of the family had been the calm in the bride's turbulent sea.

They had volunteered to help Meghan walk down the aisle, pick the wedding soundtrack, and generally acted as a rock for the happy couple to lean on.

But according to the book, Meghan and her future mother-in-law had a disagreement about the tiara.

While everything went smoothly in terms of the gown, the Queen reportedly turned down Meghan's first choice of tiara, which included emeralds.

Prince Harry was not amused by this development and had a heated exchange with staff.

The Queen intervened and told him, “Meghan cannot have whatever she wants.

She receives the tiara I gave her.”

The tiara was apparently off-limits for the special day since the royals weren't sure of its provenance and were reportedly concerned it might have come from Russia.

The sources quoted by The Sun stated that there were doubts that it might have originated in Russia.

Princess Eugenie, who married Jack Brooksbank four months after her cousin's wedding, wore the Queen's Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara for her nuptials.

This tiara is made up of six emeralds on either side and rose-cut diamonds paved set in platinum.

So maybe the item was intended for the wedding of the Queen's granddaughter later on in the year?

The royal source further stated that there was a belief within the royal camp that Meghan might be difficult to get her way because of her Hollywood upbringing.

The message from the Queen was clear.

Meghan needed to be careful to maintain family custom and consider how she spoke to staff members, according to the source.

Obviously, appearances were maintained because Meghan wore a diamond tiara with her Clare Waight Keller Boatneck Wedding Dress, which was a loan from the Queen's collection.

The bride decided to pair her sparkling headgear, which contained different flora from the 53 Commonwealth nations, with a lengthy veil and another noose.

In other royal news, , the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William recently moved to Windsor with their children before the start of the new school year.

During their visit to Wales, they were greeted with a rousing welcome and stopped to speak with many children, including one who caught Kate's eye.

She commended the student for picking up a skill she is teaching , who now needs to wear a tie to his new school, Lambrook.

Kate said, “George has been learning from me because he now needs to wear a tie to school, so I'm teaching him how to do it.

But congratulations, you did a terrific job with your tie.

I'm glad to have you.”

, , and began attending Lambrook School this month.

The announcement about the new school was made by Kensington Palace in late August.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that they are happy to have located a school for all three of their children that shares Thomas's ethos and values.

Their Royal Highnesses are enormously grateful to Thomas's Battersea where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education since 2017 and 2019, respectively.
