Princess Charlotte Set to Inherit Special Royal Title

Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, daughter of Prince William and Duchess Kate, is set to inherit a very special royal title once her father ascends to the throne.

Currently styled as H.R.H., the six-year-old princess will become even more majestic with the addition of the title Princess Royal.

According to the Mirror, this title is traditionally bestowed on the eldest daughter of the monarch and was introduced to mimic the French royal title of Madame Royale in the 1600s.

However, royal expert and author Duncan Larcombe explained that the title remains for life, so Princess Charlotte will have to wait at least until the death of the current Princess Royal, Princess Anne, the Queen's only daughter who was given the title in 1987.

The Queen herself was never known as the Princess Royal, as her aunt Princess Mary held the title, leading her to be known as Princess Elizabeth.

It is worth noting that despite being a member of the royal family, Princess Charlotte is known by a different name, Charlotte Cambridge, when attending Thomas School in Battersea.

This is because in history, kings and princes have taken their surnames from their father's titles, in this case, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Similarly, her older brother, Prince George, is known as George Cambridge at the school.

Once old enough to study, Prince Louis will go by Louis Cambridge.

The historical tradition was also adopted by her father and Prince Harry, who both took the surname Wales while in school and in the military thanks to their father's title, Prince of Wales.

Moreover, parents Kate Middleton and Prince William could also see a shake-up when Prince Charles ascends to the throne.

While the couple have been known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge since their wedding in 2011, William would be set to inherit Charles' title of the Prince of Wales when his dad becomes king.

In other news, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is reportedly very keen for Prince Harry to be invited to her and William's joint birthday party.

Although no mention of Meghan was made, Kate would very much like to see some relationship mounted back together between the brothers.

Apparently, she thinks this would be an actual great way of bonding together.

Birthdays are a time, as she's pointed out, of celebration, families, and having loved ones around you.

Express.co.uk conducted a poll asking readers whether they thought Harry and Meghan should receive an invitation to the joint party.

A total of 8,072 people responded, with a vast majority, 89 percent or 7,160 people, answering no, Harry and Meghan should not be invited.

A further 10 percent, or 810 people, said yes, they should be invited, while just 1 percent, or 112 people, said they did not know either way.

In conclusion, Princess Charlotte's future title as Princess Royal is set to make her even more majestic once her father ascends to the throne.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly keen to invite Prince Harry to her and William's joint birthday party, hoping to mend the relationship between the brothers.
