Meghan Markle’s Brand in Jeopardy as She Struggles to Build Likeability

The Duchess of Sussex, , has been making headlines again, this time for her recent appearance at a $5,000 table event for the Women's Fund of Central Indiana on November 29th.

The event, which is raising money to invest in the lives of women and girls in Central Indiana, has been billed as the Power of Women, An Evening with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex.

However, the event is closed to the media and guests must confirm they're not part of the media in order to attend.

Royal expert Neil Sean noted that there is to be no media in attendance per Meghan's wishes.

He mentioned that the Women's Fund went onto social media to drum up ticket sales, which he found very telling.

According to Sean, Meghan must sell herself somehow someway after she and Harry threw away their tiaras for America.

Stating the obvious, he says she needs to be likeable in order to build her brand.

This is where the issue lays according to Sean and Whoopi Goldberg, past co-workers, and seemingly anyone who's dared listen to her for more than a hot minute.

Is Meghan simply unlikable?

Sean thinks Meghan is not making it easy for employers to want to hire her.

Cheat Sheet notes that some of the things she's said will cause brands to hesitate to work with her.

So far, she's dragged to partnerships with Vanity Fair in deal or no deal and this could result in her being unemployable.

According to Sean, Meghan doing multiple interviews where she talks about one problem after another isn't a good look.

He said that his sources tell him people will be very scared to take her on because seemingly at some point she'll turn around and bite you.

And that's the problem.

You know, it doesn't matter who you are or what you are, if they feel like you're really documenting this experience for later use to portray yourself in a totally different light.

Additionally, former Real Housewives of New York star Bethany Frankel claimed Meghan was overplaying her hand following her exit from the royal life.

She's a terrible, terrible business person and strategist.

She's playing checkers, not chess, because she's overplaying her hand and she's painting herself into a corner, becoming a woman without a country.

Meanwhile, was accused of overshadowing 's legacy during a recent interview with Variety.

Royal commentator Lee Cohen said that the Suits alum chose to stay true to form in talking about herself instead of promoting the late monarch's legacy.

Lee said that the profound loss of the beloved, longest serving British monarch ever and her husband's grandmother caused Meghan to focus true to form on herself in this interview rather than on the qualities and the legacy of the magnificent Queen and the era shaped by her reign.

The only thing that Meghan offered in tribute to Her Majesty in that interview was her excellent example of female leadership, he added.

The expert noted that the mum-of-two talked about the Queen as if she was nothing to her.

Clearly the Great Reign and 's skillful stewardship of Britain's history and institutions were lost on Miss Markle, he added, as was the deep bond felt by Britons and those throughout the Commonwealth.

Neil Sean's sources suggest that Meghan needs to be more likeable if she wants to build her brand.

However, Meghan's recent interviews seem to be doing the opposite.

She has been discussing one problem after another, which is not a good look.

People will be scared to take her on because they feel like she's documenting her experiences for later use to portray herself in a totally different light.
