She married Prince Edward, the youngest son of and Prince Philip, in 1999 after dating him for six years.

Sophie had previously worked in public relations before taking on her role as a working member of the royal family.

Over the years, Sophie has represented the monarch at various events all around the world.

She has also been a regular attendee at official royal events and has developed a close relationship with her in-laws, particularly with and Prince Philip.

In fact, the media has referred to her as Her Majesty's favourite daughter-in-law.

According to body language expert Judy James, Sophie's calm and unfussy demeanor has impressed the Queen, and the pair are said to be very close.

Sophie also has a strong relationship with Prince Philip, who appears to relish being in her company almost as much as the Queen does.

Despite Prince Philip's reputation for being intimidating and not suffering fools gladly, he seems to have developed a close relationship with Sophie.

James claims that the pair have a shared sense of humour, and their non-verbal signals suggest that Prince Philip may have met his match in Sophie.

Sophie's close bond with her in-laws is evident even when she is with her husband, Prince Edward.

In one photo, Sophie is seen chatting with Prince Philip while Prince Edward hovers in the background with an air of polite tension to his posture.

Sophie, on the other hand, looks completely at ease and even manages to bring out Prince Philip's mischievous side.

Sophie's stoic approach to her royal duties has clearly won over Prince Philip, who will turn 100 in June.

Although he has attended fewer royal events since retiring in 2017, he has been seen with Sophie on several occasions, and their shared sense of humour and genuine interest in each other is evident.

Sophie's role in the royal family has allowed her to travel extensively and represent the Queen at various events.

She has proven to be a valuable member of the family and has developed close relationships with her in-laws, particularly with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

As the royal family continues to evolve, Sophie's presence within it remains a constant.

Her calm and unfussy demeanor, combined with her close relationships with her in-laws, make her a valuable member of the family and a favourite of the Queen.
