Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Head Back to California After Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral

Following the funeral of II, and are heading back to California.

The couple, who arrived in the UK last week after the death of Her Majesty, won't be sticking around after the Queen's funeral.

According to an insider, they were unprepared to remain in the UK for this long.

“It's been an emotional and heartbreaking week, but naturally they're looking forward to getting back to and ,” the source said.

“This is the longest amount of time they've ever been apart from their kids in one go.”

During the funeral service, body language expert Adrienne Carter noted that Harry was scanning the room while remembering the funeral of his mother, .

“There's no doubt he feels sad on this occasion and he could be remembering his mother's funeral too,” she said.

However, some royal fans disagree with the expert's opinion.

One fan said, “Harry's expression does not appear as sadness or anguish to me, more like a mix of extreme effort to suppress anger and shame.”

Another added, “He looks so angry on all his pictures, not sad.

I suspect Harry and Meghan are starting to realize that King Charles won't give them whatever they want.”

Reportedly, and kept their distance during the funeral.

Despite walking side by side from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey, the once-close brothers sat separately at the ceremony.

William and Harry also marched together during the procession to Wellington Arch, but went their separate ways after the committal service.

According to an insider, William has been processing his grief and the death of his grandmother rather than focusing on his relationship with Harry.

“He's solely focused on doing what is right to honor the Queen,” the insider said.

During the service, lip reader Jackie Press spotted Prince Harry and in conversation before the Queen's committal service.

As Prince William was standing at the entrance to the front pew, Prince Harry asked him, “Shall we go through first?”

William nodded and told his wife, Kate, “Let them go through first.”

Later in the service, Harry shared a sweet moment with his niece, , as he briefly smiled reassuringly at her.

As for Harry and Meghan, they are now on their way back to California to be with their children.

While the couple may have hoped to secure a half-in, half-out deal with access to royal funds, it seems that they are starting to realize that King Charles won't give them whatever they want.

Despite the emotional and difficult week, the couple is looking forward to being reunited with their children and returning to their life in California.
