Did Meghan Markle Use Surrogates for Archie and Lilibet’s Births?

There have been many rumors circulating that , the Duchess of Sussex, used surrogate mothers to give birth to her children, and .

While there is no concrete evidence to support these claims, there are several factors that have led people to speculate.

One of the reasons why people suspect that Meghan may have used surrogates is her age.

At 37, Meghan's pregnancy with was considered high-risk.

It had been widely reported that prior to her marriage, Meghan had frozen her eggs for Archie.

Additionally, instead of using Royal Doctors and Hospitals, Meghan and Harry used the UK's number one hospital for surrogacy, the Portland Hospital in London.

Another reason people believe Meghan used surrogates is that she used fake bumps during her pregnancies.

This was a trend at the time, where women would wear prosthetic bumps to appear pregnant, then lose weight quickly after giving birth.

The press got hold of Archie's birth certificate a few weeks after he was born, which showed that he was born at the Portland Hospital.

Harry provided the information for the certificate 11 days after his son's birth.

When the news got out, a spokeswoman for the hospital sent generic well wishes without linking the Sussexes to the hospital.

However, three years after Archie's birth, Meghan spoke about it in a Netflix show, explaining that she had a long-standing relationship with her doctor, who was based at the Portland Hospital, and that's why she delivered her baby there.

It's worth noting that the way doctors work in the UK is different from how they work in the US.

In the US, doctors are tied to particular hospitals and don't attend elsewhere.

But in the UK, a private doctor can attend any hospital.

A parenting coach from the UK has weighed in, stating that all private doctors will go to whichever hospital you want to deliver.

In her 2022 Netflix show, Meghan also disclosed that she had been apprehensive about giving birth because of her age.

She was 37 at the time, which is considered advanced maternal age, and therefore high-risk.

She also revealed that she didn't pose with a newborn outside the hospital because she was scared for Archie's safety.

However, in the Oprah interview in 2021, she gave a different explanation, stating that she had been told it was impossible to pose outside the hospital.

It's legal in the UK for a private specialized hospital like the Portland not to have an emergency department.

This has been pointed out online by a Portland Hospital midwife.

In contrast, the hospital in which most royals deliver their babies, St. Mary's, does have an emergency department.

Interestingly, another royal, Sarah Ferguson, aka Fergie, the Duchess of York, gave birth to her two daughters at the Portland in 1988 and 1990.

Both times she posed outside the hospital for photographers.

In conclusion, while there is no concrete evidence to support the claims that used surrogates for Archie and 's births, there are several factors that have led people to speculate.

Meghan's age, her use of the Portland Hospital, and her decision not to pose with a newborn outside the hospital have all contributed to these rumors.

However, until there is concrete evidence, these claims remain nothing more than speculation.
