Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh: New Title Honours Prince Edward and Sophie

The youngest brother of King Charles, Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie have been granted a new title.

Months after 's death, the royal pair will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.

The official announcement was published on the royal's website, stating that His Majesty the King has conferred the Dukedom of Edinburgh upon the Prince Edward Earl of Wessex and Forfa on the occasion of his 59th birthday.

When Edward married Sophie in 1999, his late mother, the Queen, expressed her wish for them to become the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh upon her and Prince Philip's deaths.

However, when Charles ascended the throne, he granted the title of Prince of Wales to his oldest son, , but did not give the Dukedom of Edinburgh to Edward.

This decision raised questions, but it was likely held for a special occasion like Edward's birthday.

Edward and Sophie are deserving of much recognition, as their work is not covered as widely as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

They will undoubtedly make an incredible Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the upgrade in title reflects their hard work and dedication.

Their son, James, is now the Earl of Wessex, and their daughter, Lady Louise, will not receive an upgrade in title.

She declined the opportunity to become Princess Louise when she turned 18 to focus on her studies at St Andrews in Scotland.

Upon Edward's death, the title will return to the crown, as Charles decided not to make the Duke of Edinburgh title Pastor James.

There are speculations that Harry and Meghan knew about Prince Edward's new title and scheduled 's christening to steal his thunder.

The baby had not been christened in 21 months, and they chose to do a small ceremony at home, which would have been quick and easy to execute.

Even if they were not in the loop, Eugene would have surely known.

Edward was promised that title 23 years ago, and the announcement of their children's change in status was made two days before.

Whilst Edward's announcement was made by King Charles at Buckingham Palace, the Sussexes' announcement had to be made by themselves through cheesy People magazine, with not one word from Buckingham Palace, King Charles, or the Royal Family.

The Sussexes continue to be a global laughing stock, and their titles mean nothing in America or to the Royal Family and the rest of the world.

Piers Morgan questioned how Harry and Meghan could criticise the Royal Institution and claim that living as a member of the British Royal Family is like living in a prison.

If they allow their offspring to take part in traditions, they have slammed.

They kept telling the world how bad the Royal Family was, it's a prison camp, etc., and all the Royals wanted to get away from it.

But now they want to give their kids titles.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh title honours Prince Edward and Sophie, and they deserve every success that comes with it.

They have worked tirelessly for the Royal Family and have not received the recognition they deserve.

The upgrade in their title will undoubtedly bring more attention to their work, and they will continue to make a significant impact on the Royal Family.
