Duke of Cambridge Visits Scotland Amidst Royal Family Tensions

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, has embarked on a week-long trip to Scotland, which comes on the heels of his scathing televised statement against the BBC regarding their handling of his mother Princess Diana's Panorama interview.

The future king looked pensive and glum as he began his visit with an appearance at Ainslie Park Stadium, home of the Spartans FC, where he chatted with grassroots players from Scotland's Mental Health Football and Well-Being League.

The league was established to support recovery and tackle stigma associated with mental health, with support from the Scottish FA.

William, who is the president of the Football Association, also showed off his football skills on the pitch and spoke to footballers from the UK's four national teams during a video call, which included England star Harry Kane.

Later in the day, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, William took part in the ceremony of the Quays in his role as the Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

The Lord High Commissioner attends as an observer and is appointed by the Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister.

The Duke inspected the Guard of Honour and the band during the ceremony and stopped to speak with soldiers.

The Duke's visit to Scotland comes just hours after his younger brother, the Duke of Sussex, launched a fresh attack on the Royals in his mental health documentary series with Oprah Winfrey, The Me You Can't See.

Prince Harry accused the Royal family of total neglect when his wife was feeling suicidal amid social media trolling.

He stated that every single ask, request, warning, whatever it is, to stop just got met with total silence or total neglect.

Harry added that they spent four years trying to make it work, doing everything they possibly could to stay there and carry on doing the role and doing the job.

Prince William's visit to Scotland also follows the BBC inquiry, which found that the broadcaster covered up deceitful behavior used by journalist Martin Bashir to secure his bombshell 1995 interview with Princess Diana.

In a scathing televised statement, the Duke lambasted the BBC for their failures in handling the interview.

During his trip, the Duke of Cambridge is expected to visit a range of organizations and businesses, including the Scottish Ambulance Service, the University of St Andrews, and the European Marine Energy Centre.

The focus of his visit is on supporting the country's COVID-19 recovery efforts, promoting mental health awareness, and celebrating Scotland's culture and heritage.
