Meghan Markle Allegedly Distances Herself from Her Mom, Doria Ragland
Meghan Markle's relationship with her mom, Doria Ragland, has been a subject of interest for many since she became the Duchess of Sussex.
Recently, rumors have been circulating that Meghan is distancing herself from her mother, and Woman's Day Australia even suggested that Doria had been cut from Meghan's life.
Although there is no concrete evidence to support this claim, the entertainment news outlet reported that Doria was not allowed to see Meghan, Prince Harry, and their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The dubious claim went as far as stating that Meghan is using the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to distance herself from the yoga instructor.
Since it is a requirement for people to self-isolate, the Suits actress is trying to pass her decision to distance from her mom as just that.
However, an unnamed source told the publication, “Of course they're passing it off as a social distancing thing, but Meghan's been social distancing from people she falls out with her whole life.
Trending:
I've heard they barely speak anyway.
Doria's finding it very hard to adjust to this new life, she lives alone and doesn't feel comfortable leaving much anymore, and Meghan's barely done a thing to help her.”
According to insiders, Meghan and Doria's apparent closeness was a relatively new thing.
The Duchess of Sussex was actually raised mostly by Tom Messar, Meghan's dad.
The cynical among us can't help but wonder if Meghan's closeness with her mom around the wedding was all an act.
The insider went on to say that Markle only became close to her mom recently.
But while she was growing up, Markle was much closer to her dad, Thomas Markle Sr.
Moreover, a source told Us Weekly that Markle is not really close to her mom.
Before returning to the United States, the insider said that Ragland had no plans to relocate to Canada to be with the Sussexes.
In addition, Meghan Markle was accused of ignoring her mother, Doria Ragland, when naming her newborn daughter, Lilibet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the name of the daughter as Lilibet Lily Diana Mountbatten-Windsor after her birth on June 4 in Santa Barbara, California.
While Lily's first name serves as a tribute to the baby's great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, whose family nickname is Lilibet, there was a surprise after Doria, who Meghan is reportedly very close with, was omitted from Lilibet's names.
A Royal Watcher said, “It reaffirms how odd it is that they want to distance themselves from the firm as they see it as such a negatively impacting institution, publicly dragging the royal family which the Queen is the head of, but to continue to style themselves as Prince and Duchess and name their child after the Queen.
Also, they are neglecting, Meghan's, side, it would have been all the sweeter to have Doria's name included if the idea was to honor the strong women in their lives.”
Royal expert Mr. Myers cast doubt on the suggestion that the name Lily was an ode to Doria and agreed that it was surprising to see no reference to the Duchess of Sussex's mother.
Mr. Myers said, “I was surprised that Doria didn't get a mention in the names.
That's what I've done for my children, you give the names from both sides.”
It is important to note that the claims made about Meghan and Doria's relationship are just rumors, and there is no concrete evidence to support them.
However, it is clear that Meghan and Doria's relationship has been under scrutiny since the former actress married into the royal family.
Regardless of the truth behind the rumors, it is always important to prioritize family and maintain healthy relationships with loved ones.
