Meghan Markle Accused of Ignoring Her Mother in Naming Lilibet Lily Diana Mountbatten-Windsor
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lilibet Lily Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
The couple chose the name Lilibet as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, whose family nickname is Lilibet.
The name reportedly originated from the Queen's childhood when she struggled to pronounce Elizabeth, and was used by her father King George VI.
Additionally, Lily's middle name, Diana, is a tribute to Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.
However, Meghan Markle has been accused of ignoring her mother, Doria Ragland, when choosing the names for her newborn.
Doria, who Meghan is reportedly very close with, was omitted from Lilibet's names.

This decision has led to criticism from some royal experts and fans alike, who believe that Meghan should have included her mother's name in some way.
A Royal Watcher commented on the situation, stating that it is odd for the couple to distance themselves from the royal family while still styling themselves as Prince and Duchess and naming their child after the Queen.
Furthermore, neglecting Meghan's side of the family by not including Doria's name is seen as a missed opportunity to honor the strong women in their lives.
Royal expert Russell Myers also joined the conversation, expressing surprise that Doria didn't get a mention in the names.
He stated that he always gives names from both sides when naming his own children.
Doria, a yoga instructor and former social worker, has maintained a strong bond with Meghan and was by her side on her wedding day, despite Meghan's father not being in attendance amid a staged photo scandal.
According to Meghan's biographers, it was Doria who broke the news of her grandson's birth to ex-husband Thomas Markle.
During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan praised Doria for remaining in silent dignity for four years as she watched her daughter struggle with royal life.
Meghan has also referred to Doria as her best friend and has spoken about their close bond.
Harry is reportedly very close with Doria as well, and the couple has been spending time with their two young children in the US while signing lucrative contracts with streaming platforms Netflix and Spotify.
In other news, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly refused to comment on royal author Tom Bower's controversial claims in his new book Revenge.
In the book, Bower claims that Meghan bullied royal staff after being frustrated at Harry and even threw a cup in the air at one point.
Bower also claimed that she reprimanded Prince Harry's pals from Eton College when she was just his girlfriend.
The friends then ended up telling Harry that he was nuts for dating her at the time.
Despite the controversy surrounding the couple, they continue to make headlines and draw attention from fans and critics alike.
The decision to omit Doria's name from Lilibet's names has sparked debate and criticism, but ultimately, it is up to Meghan and Harry to decide how they want to honor their loved ones.
As they continue to navigate their new lives outside of the royal family, it remains to be seen what other surprises they have in store for the public.
