Queen Responded Brilliantly to Meghan and Harry’s Split from Royal Family, Claims Historian

As and began their new life in the US last year, the Queen responded to their departure with grace and poise, according to royal historian Hugo Vickers.

Vickers, who has written biographies of several 20th-century figures, including Princess Alice of Battenberg and the Queen Mother, claimed that the Queen has continued to dedicate herself to a life of service.

Vickers praised the Queen for her self-effacing approach to serving the nation, rather than trying to set herself up as something.

He noted that the Queen is very modest as a person, and she also knows when it's better to say nothing than to say something.

Vickers stated that the Queen's ability to keep quiet much of the time is very effective, and he admires her for it.

During her historic reign, which is set to reach 70 years next year, the Queen has been praised for her deft handling of various royal crises.

Britain's longest-ruling monarch is often said to adopt the mantra of never complain, never explain.

Vickers believes that people are lucky to live in this reign, and that they will have a chance to look back on it and see how fantastic it's been.

Contrary to claims made by Meghan during her bombshell interview with earlier this year that she was abandoned by the Windsors, 's biographer Andrew Morton claims that a massive effort was made to protect the Duchess of Sussex when she joined the royal family.

In his updated biography of the Duchess, Morton provides explosive new details of the rift that led to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepping down as working royals and moving to the US.

Morton says that far from abandoning Meghan, the palace had a team which spent hundreds of hours monitoring social media accounts and reporting violent threats to the police.

He writes that before the wedding, the Queen had shrewdly assigned her own experienced assistant private secretary Samantha Cohen to explain the workings of the monarchy and the Commonwealth to Meghan.

Morton also points to the Duchess of Cornwall tenderly taking her hand at a garden party to celebrate Charles's 70th birthday – a rare royal gesture which said Meghan is now one of us.

The Queen went further, according to Morton, by giving Harry and Meghan a golden ticket by appointing them to key roles in the Commonwealth.

This global role would set the couple free from the endless fashion, lifestyle, and personality comparisons with William and Kate.

Amid Harry and Meghan's departure, Her Majesty has said very little publicly, but she has still let her feelings on the matter be known.

In February, as the Queen officially confirmed that the Sussexes would cease their royal duties, she said the whole family was saddened by their decision.

She added that the Duke and Duchess remain much-loved members of the family.
