Duchess of Cambridge suggests Queen move in next door to the Cambridges
Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, has reportedly suggested that the Queen move in next door to her and her husband Prince William.
The two female royals are said to be very close, with the Queen seeing Middleton as one of her strongest and most reliable allies.
The suggestion comes amid concerns about security for senior members of the royal family, following a series of health problems experienced by the Queen and an intruder breaking into Windsor Castle on Christmas Day.
According to a royal insider, it is normal for someone to suggest that William and Catherine move in next to the Queen, but suggesting that the Queen move in next to the Cambridges would be hard to believe.
However, it was the Duchess of Cambridge who made the suggestion.
A source has suggested that Her Majesty downsizes and moves into the empty apartment next to theirs at Kensington Palace.

At Kensington Palace, she will be able to look out the window and see them playing whenever she likes.
For Catherine, taking care of the Queen in her twilight years feels like the perfect way to repay her for all the counsel and guidance she's given her since she married William.
It makes sense to downsize, even Philip preferred a smaller hunters' lodge in Sandringham to the castles toward the end.

Queen urges Prince William to stop flying helicopters with family
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the Queen has urged Prince William to stop flying helicopters with his wife Catherine and their children over safety fears.
Her Majesty is said to be terrified that an accident could happen, threatening William's succession to the throne.
An unwritten rule within the firm already prevents senior royals from flying together just in case disaster strikes.
The protocol was relaxed as Prince William's family grew bigger and they began to split their time between London and Norfolk.
However, a source close to the Queen said she is terrified something could go wrong and has now spoken to William about her worries.
The Queen's concerns come after two near-misses in one royal helicopter have led to a major probe being launched.
A source close to the Queen claimed that she would like William to stop flying himself, particularly in bad weather, as helicopters are not the safest form of transport.
It keeps the Queen awake at night and she is understandably very worried.
She knows William is a capable pilot but does not think it is worth the risk for all five of them to carry on flying together and can't imagine what would happen.
It would spark a constitutional crisis.
The Queen reportedly thinks the future is bright with William and Catherine having risen to the challenge of senior royals in recent years, and something bad happening to them doesn't bear thinking about.
