Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently attended the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Awards gala held in New York City on Tuesday evening.

The couple arrived via private jet from their home in California, with the awards ceremony set to take place on December 6th.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among the recipients of the gong, handed out by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Organization to exemplary leaders demonstrating unwavering commitment to social change.

Other recipients of this year's award included Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the late NBA legend Bill Russell.

However, the event was marked by the absence of almost all of the couple's famous celebrity friends, including Elton John, , the Obamas, Vogue editor Edward Ennifull, and 's surrogate dad, the music producer David Foster, and almost all of their families.

This snub has raised questions about the couple's relationship with their celebrity friends.

At the event, Harry and Meghan were asked how they feel about destroying the royal family, just hours before the release of the first part of their explosive docuseries.

In a video posted on Twitter by user Harry'sGreySuit, the moment is captured as the couple stepped out of the car and made their way into the event.

The Duke of Sussex was seen holding an umbrella as he walked into the venue alongside his wife.

The 38-year-old waits for his wife to exit the vehicle, and as the door opens, an eager member of the waiting crowd can be heard shouting, “Harry, what do you think about destroying the royal family?”

The same crowd member can then be heard shouting aimed at Meghan, “Meghan, you destroyed the royal family!”

The couple, surrounded by the flashes of the cameras, then swiftly began to walk hand in hand towards the entrance of the awards ceremony.

Despite the backlash, Harry and Meghan have been given the award for opposing structural racism within the royal family.

The couple was honored at last night's event, which was organized by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Group, alongside ex-NBA legend Bill Russell and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

Harry arrived at the event wearing a suit and tie, while Meghan opted for a sleek white off-the-shoulder dress.

The award has been given to the couple almost two years after their bombshell interview with , where Meghan opened up about a conversation that allegedly occurred regarding the color of their unborn baby's skin.

The couple has never revealed who the said royal was, although Harry made it clear that it was not the late Queen or Prince Philip.

In other news, a Nigerian blogger and former model called out and for accepting an award for targeting the British royal family.

Linda, who reportedly used to support the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, took to Instagram to take aim at the royal couple.

The blogger, who's followed by more than 6 million people on Instagram wrote, “I feel very strongly about these two.

I just hate when people turn on their family or sell them out with half-truth.

She added, “I hate that Harry lost his best friend and brother.

I wish Meghan had more family values.

Sigh.

Anyway, after the docuseries, I hope there will be a reality show next.

They obviously don't want a private life.”

The post came a day after Meghan and Harry received the Ripple of Hope award in New York.

Royal fans are celebrating the fact that one of the couple's biggest supporters has turned on them.

Elton John and Oprah Winfrey were among the celebrities who did not attend the event, leading to rumors of a rift between the couple and their celebrity friends.

The absence of the couple's famous friends has raised questions about the couple's relationship with their celebrity friends and the impact of their controversial decision to step down as senior members of the royal family.

The couple has faced intense scrutiny from the media since they announced their intention to step back from royal duties in January 2020.

Their decision to move to the United States and pursue financial independence has been met with criticism, with some accusing the couple of abandoning their duty to the royal family.

Despite the backlash, the couple has continued to speak out on issues such as climate change, mental health, and racial justice.

Their Netflix documentary, “Heart of Invictus,” which follows the journey of wounded veterans as they prepare for the Invictus Games, is set to be released soon.
