King Charles III to be Crowned on May 6th, 2023

The coronation date for King Charles III has been officially announced and it is set to take place on May 6th, 2023.

This date has come as a surprise to many, as it was previously speculated that the coronation would take place in early June.

However, the palace quickly debunked this rumour.

, the Duchess of Cornwall, will also be officially crowned as Queen Consort in the same ceremony.

While this news has been well received by most, there are some who are not happy with the chosen date.

The Sussex squad, for instance, are upset because the coronation coincides with 's fourth birthday, which happens to be on the same day.

However, what they fail to realize is that May 6th is a significant date in royal history.

It is the day that the late Queen's grandfather, King George V, ascended the throne in 1910.

Royal expert Daniela Elsa commented on the matter, stating that the son of 's fourth birthday is going to be a bit of a disappointment.

She added that while the timing of the FA Cup final and the Epsom Derby were taken into account when booking a palace, it is surprising that the 6th in line to the throne's birthday was not considered.

Elsa says that the King's choice to co-opt the Tot's day for his own ends is likely either a burn or an example of the things that Meghan and Harry have long been frustrated by.

Elsa further explained that there is a concerning note to the choice of the weekend to have the coronation.

The day that marks the addition of the first mixed race member of the royal family is about to be superseded and overshadowed in the history books by the crowning of King Charles.

Harry and Meghan will likely feel a sting in the tail from the move, which comes as the world waits on news of whether Harry is going to press forward with his upcoming memoir.

The only question now is whether the Sussexes will attend.

Royal commentator and journalist Kinsey Schofield said that Harry and Meghan will be invited despite their destructive behaviour.

However, it remains to be seen if they will attend.

Furthermore, the guest list for Charles' coronation will be cut from the 8,000 that attended his mother's coronation in 1953 to just 2,000.

This is a sign that he is following through with his slimmed down approach to the monarchy.

In comparison to the current Queen's coronation in 1953, a slimmed down version of the royal family is predicted to appear for the iconic balcony moment at King Charles' coronation next year.

According to the Mail on Sunday, only Queen Consort , , Catherine Princess of Wales, , and are set to join Charles on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

It will be a slimmed down monarchy on display throughout.

A royal source claims that it wouldn't be surprising to see just Charles and Camilla, Kate and William, and their children on the Buckingham Palace balcony afterwards.

With Harry and Meghan having stepped down from their royal roles in 2020 and moving to their new home in LA, it is thought that Charles won't include the pair at the forefront of big events with his new tight knit monarchy.

In conclusion, the coronation of King Charles III is set to take place on May 6th, 2023.

While the chosen date has caused some controversy, it is a significant day in royal history.

The guest list for the coronation will be slimmed down, in line with Charles' approach to the monarchy.
