Meghan Markle and Rory McIlroy: A Tale of Friendship and Speculation
Rory McIlroy has been making headlines recently, not just for his impressive golfing skills but also for his emotional side.
The Northern Irishman got teary-eyed as he talked about his hero Tiger Woods, ahead of this week's Open Championship.
But did you know that McIlroy was once linked to Meghan Markle?
Back in 2014, before she met Prince Harry, Meghan took part in the ALS ice bucket challenge after McIlroy nominated her.
At the time, there were rumors that they could be dating.
They were later seen enjoying a meal together in Dublin, but they confirmed that they were just friends.

Unknown to many, McIlroy became well acquainted with Meghan during her time on the TV show Suits.
Having previously worked alongside her, he was asked in 2018 if he had any advice for Prince Harry ahead of their marriage.
He said, “I obviously know Meghan a little bit, but then how do you answer a question like that?
Because there are clearly cultural differences as there is between Erica and myself.”
McIlroy also has an American wife, Erica, whom he met in 2015.
The pair married two years later and welcomed their first child in September 2020.
But it seems that Meghan is still pursuing her showbiz career.
According to a friend, Meghan is on the lookout for new TV opportunities and is considering going down the reality TV route.
She wants to collaborate with Oprah's Network to give people a look at the more glamorous aspects of her life.
However, her sentiments are reportedly causing friction between her and Prince Harry.
The friend claimed that Harry is embarrassed by his numerous TV interviews and is planning to dial back on some PR engagements and filming commitments.
“It feels like it's all become too much for him, especially with the Netflix crew everywhere.
He will be so relieved when it's over,” the source shared.
As for McIlroy, he is preparing for the Open Championship and feeling emotional as he reflects on his journey.
Speaking about the event, he said, “It's incredible to think, just, if you were to tell 10-year-old Rory back then that you would be doing this, I wouldn't have believed you.”
He added that he is privileged and humble to be a part of it all.
McIlroy's friendship with Meghan may have sparked speculation in the past, but it seems that they were just good friends.
Meghan has moved on and is pursuing her own career, while McIlroy continues to make waves in the golfing world.
Who knows what the future holds for these two?
But for now, let's focus on their individual journeys and wish them both well.
