Harry and Meghan Markle to Enjoy a Cosy Valentine’s Day at Home

The newly engaged couple, and , are set to spend a romantic Valentine's Day together.

According to the Royal Diary, the couple has no official engagements scheduled for February 14th, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a cosy night in.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace confirmed that nothing is planned for the couple on Valentine's Day, except for 's attendance at his father's speech at the International Year of the Reef 2018 meeting at Fishmongers Hall in London.

Harry was seen sitting with at the luncheon today.

It is no secret that Ms Markle is a big fan of Valentine's Day.

In a post on her former lifestyle blog, The Tig, she wrote, “I am such a sucker for Valentine's Day, without fail, every February 14th.”

She also revealed her love for Paris and the romantic atmosphere it provides.

However, instead of a lavish celebration, the couple may opt for a cosy night in with roast chicken.

This meal holds a special significance for the couple, as it was the dish they were preparing when Prince Harry proposed to Meghan.

Describing the proposal, Meghan said, “We were trying to roast a chicken and it just, just an amazing surprise, it was so sweet and natural and very romantic, he got on one knee.”

Prince Harry added, “She didn't even let me finish, she said can I say yes, can I say yes and then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like can I, can I give you the ring, she goes oh yes the ring.”

Although the couple did not officially appear in public together until September last year, Meghan and Harry's relationship has been kept under wraps since last Valentine's Day.

As for gifts, Meghan believes that it is the thought that counts, whether it be breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower.

She wrote, “Valentine's Day is special wherever you happen to find yourself.”

James Holt, a spokesman for Kensington Palace confirmed that no royal engagements are scheduled for the couple on Valentine's Day.

He stated, “We tried to release the scheduled events for the royals in day order, nothing is scheduled for Harry and Meghan on February 14th.”

The couple's first Valentine's Day as an engaged couple is sure to be special, whether they choose to celebrate with a lavish dinner or a cosy night in.
