Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were ‘hoping for an apology’ from Prince William and Prince Charles.
Prince Charles and Prince William reached out to Prince Harry after the explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
It was hoped that Prince William would apologize to the Sussexes during talks that Meghan Markle's friend Gayle King described as “not productive.”
Mr Eden told Palace Confidential on MailPlus' : “I thought after Harry and Meghan's hurtful remarks about Prince Charles, Prince William, and Kate in their interview with Oprah, I could forgive them for never speaking to Harry and Meghan again.”
“For them to contact them so soon, to make the effort to get in touch, I thought was a big deal, a generous gesture.”
“Again, for that to be thrown back in their faces by hearing just within a day, two days of their call that the private details were recounted on live TV by a so-called friend of Meghan's was shocking in itself.”
“What was even more shocking was it wasn't just some bland briefing, she went right into the details.”

“She said they were not productive. What on earth was she saying?”
“What were they hoping to produce from this?”
“It sounds like they were hoping for an apology from Charles and William.”
“It should have been the other way around, in my opinion.”
Gayle King, a close friend of the pair and co-host of CBS' “This Morning,” said she contacted Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex over the weekend to see how they were feeling.
“Harry has spoken with his brother and also with his father. Those talks, according to the word I was given, were not productive. “But they're happy they've at least begun a dialogue,” King said on “This Morning” on Tuesday.
Gayle also hinted that the couple was dissatisfied with the response from Buckingham Palace to their interview.
“I think what's really troubling them is that the palace keeps saying they want to sort things out privately… but they know false stories are still coming out that are very disparaging of Meghan,” she added.
“No one in the royal family has talked to Meghan yet at this particular time and I think it's frustrating for them to see that it's a racial conversation about the royal family when all they wanted all along was for the royals to intervene and tell the press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate false stories that definitely have a racial slant,” King stated.
