Meghan Markle got special treatment from Queen Elizabeth over Kate Middleton

According to at least one royal source, since Meghan Markle joined the royal family, Queen Elizabeth has made a deliberate effort to show her more favor than she has given to other entrants in the past, including Princess Diana and Kate Middleton.

The queen is “particularly close” to the Duchess of Sussex, according to royal biographer Duncan Larcombe.

“Meghan seems to have forged a particularly close relationship with the queen if you compare that to when other people have married into the royal family,” Larcombe told Fabulous Digital, according to The Sun.

He continued, “The queen last year, in the first few months of Meghan's entry into the royal family, made a particular and slightly unusual effort to welcome her in. Unusual in the context of the trip on the royal train to do a royal engagement. I'm 99% sure she's never afforded that offer to Kate.”

Meghan was asked to make her first solo appearance with Queen Elizabeth just weeks after her wedding at Windsor Castle.

In May, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were married, and in June, the queen and the new duchess of Sussex travelled to Cheshire by royal train overnight. Some sources say that neither Kate Middleton nor Prince Harry have ridden the royal train.

Queen Elizabeth “obviously requested” Meghan to join her for public appearances on many occasions, according to Larcombe, and it was definitely so on purpose to “signal the fact that she was welcoming her into the royal family.”

Kate Middleton, on the other hand, waited until she and Prince William had been together for eight years before making a solo debut with the dictator.

Princess Diana, Harry's mother, may have had something to do with the queen's preferential handling of Meghan.

“Also probably because of the lessons of the past, where Princess Diana felt like an outsider in the royal family,” the biographer explained.
