Why Meghan Markle was “wise” to invite A-List celebrities to her wedding
Meghan Markle was very ‘smart' to invite high-profile celebrities to her wedding, according to a royal expert.
Meghan invited many well-known celebrities to her wedding, including Oprah Winfrey and George and Amal Clooney, but it was later discovered that she didn't know them well.
Andrew Morton, a royal biographer, noted that some of those who attended her wedding are now defending her from criticism.
‘Meghan is smart, and the people she invited at her wedding illustrated her intent,' he told Vanity Fair.
‘She invited people she didn't know well, including Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, and Amal Conney, who are all major Hollywood names.'
‘It was a smart move because they have always defended her when she has been targeted.'

George Clooney has spoken out about the media's treatment of Meghan Markle, even comparing it to Princess Diana's treatment.
Earlier this year, George said, ‘They're all following Meghan Markle anywhere, she's been hunted and vilified.'
‘She's a seven-month-pregnant woman who is being pursued, vilified, and pursued in the same way Diana was, and it's history repeating itself.
‘And we've seen how that turns out.' I can't tell you how aggravating it is to see anything like that.'
Meghan has also spoken out about the British media's treatment of her, saying that she found it difficult to deal with the scrutiny when adjusting to life as a new mother.
Meghan told ITV reporter Tom Bradby during a documentary about the recent royal tour of South Africa, “Any woman, particularly when she's pregnant, you're really vulnerable, and so that was made really difficult.”
‘And then, you know, when you have a newborn.'
‘It's a lot, particularly as a woman, so when you put this on top of trying to be a new mom or a newlywed, it's, yeah, well, I think….'
