Meghan is also grieving and was ‘very close’ to Prince Philip, her friend claims

's friend, Omid Scobie, claims that Prince Philip's funeral is a “sad day” for her.

is also mourning Prince Philip's death, and her thoughts are with the family today, Scobie revealed while covering the event.

The Duchess of Sussex was apparently told by her doctor not to go to the UK while pregnant with her second child, so she did not attend the funeral.

One month after their bombshell interview with , which sent shockwaves across the palace, tensions between the Royal Family and the Sussexes remain high.

Meghan seems to have shown respect for the Duke of Edinburgh as the royal family bid him goodbye on Saturday.

“Although Meghan isn't here, she is of course supporting Harry….,” Omid, a close associate of the Sussexes, said while reporting live from Windsor Castle for American broadcaster ABC.

“Her mind is very much on the situation over here.

“We know that she's supporting Harry in this very difficult week for him, but she'll also be sad because this is also the loss of a family member for her.

“She grew very close to the Queen and Prince Philip over the recent years.

“It was probably her strongest relationship within the family and those relations then get smaller this week.

“It'll be a sad day for her.”

Meghan was viewing the funeral from her house, and she and Harry had both selected flowers for a wreath at St George's Chapel in honor of Philip.

It included a handwritten note from the Duchess, but it's unclear what she penned.

The national flower of Greece, Acanthus mollis (Bear's breeches), was chosen by Meghan and Harry to reflect the Duke of Edinburgh's heritage.

Royal supporters were overjoyed to see the siblings conversing, as the two were once very close before the rumors of a feud began.

“So good to see Princes William and Harry speaking at the end,” one Twitter user wrote.
