Prince Philip’s death linked to Meghan Markle’s interview by Fox News host
Prince Philip's passing, according to Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, was tied to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Brian Kilmeade brought up Meghan Markle's latest interview with Oprah Winfrey during a Friday morning discussion of Prince Philip's passing, suggesting the televised sitdown stressed out the late prince.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Philip, died on Friday at the age of 99, after months of ill health and hospitalization. Minutes after the news was revealed by Buckingham Palace, “Fox & Friends” co-host Kilmeade cited reports that Philip was “enraged” following the interview in which Meghan and Harry said the royal family treated them badly and that one member made racist remarks regarding their child.
‘There are reports that [Philip] was enraged after the interview and the fallout from the interview with Oprah Winfrey, so here he is trying to recover and he's hit with that,' he stated.
“Piers Morgan was saying on his morning show, which he famously walked off of, is like “Really? Your grandfather is in the hospital, you know he's not doing well, is this really the time you have to put out this interview?” Evidently, it definitely added to his stress .'
The footage from Fox News' “Fox & Friends” analysis of the prince's death was posted to YouTube, but it was cut right before Kilmeade's remarks.

However, astute Twitter users picked up on them, and Kilmeade's claims have since been widely circulated.

Kilmeade's comments drew criticism from some Twitter users.
“It only took Fox News about fifteen minutes to blame Meghan Markle. I figured the UK tabloids would be first,” author Kristen Meinzer noted.
“Prince Philip didn't die because of Harry and Meghan. He died because he was 2,486 years old,” author Tony Posnanski tweeted.
“Fox & Friends hosts have a collective IQ somewhere in the 50s. Prince Philip passed away at 99. We should all be so lucky,” said another tweet.
“There has to be some way we can blame Meghan Markle for this” – Fox News” Philip Lewis, senior front page editor at Huffpost with over 160,000 Twitter followers tweeted.
“How dare Harry and Meghan kill a perfectly healthy man who was only 99 years old,” posted verified tweeter @goldengateblond.
‘Happy Friday to everyone except Brian Kilmeade because hoo boy that is one seriously racist asshole blaming the death of decrepit Prince Philip on Meghan Markle,' said Majid M Padellan, an American author and art designer.
Derek Cortez of Kentucky quipped, “A 99yr old man is dead, 2 months shy of his 100th birthday. And it's that colored gals fault” – Brian .
Kilmeade isn't the first media personality to encounter backlash over his remarks during the blockbuster interview earlier this month. Piers Morgan, a British tv celebrity, stormed off the set of “Good Morning Britain” following a clash with a coworker about Markle's revelations, and has since been raging against “cancel culture” and the duchess.
