Archie and Lilibet to miss out on royal privilege as Queen eliminates them from inheritance list
It has been confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be returning to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, bringing along their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
However, the young Sussexes will miss out on a royal privilege that many of their cousins have already experienced.
Archie, who has not visited the UK since the family moved to the US, and Lilibet, who has yet to meet any of her royal relatives in person, will not be joining the other great-grandchildren on the Buckingham Palace balcony at Trooping the Colour.
This traditional palace gathering is a regular occurrence during Her Majesty's official birthday celebrations, but this year only royals currently undertaking official public duties on her behalf will be on the balcony in June.
This means that the Cambridge kids could be there, along with the Queen's other great-grandchildren whose parents are working royals.
However, Archie and Lilibet, along with their parents, are no longer working royals so they won't be able to enjoy this royal milestone this year.

Appearing on the balcony for the first time at Trooping the Colour would have been a huge moment for Archie and Lilibet, who fans have only seen a few glimpses of over the past year.
However, they will have to wait a little longer to experience this exciting privilege.
The news comes amidst recent reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been issued a grave warning against competing with the Queen.
Royal biographer Hugo Vickers says that it is wise for the Duke and Duchess to keep a low profile at the monarch's Platinum Jubilee and support the Queen without competing with her.
Vickers added that the most successful members of the royal family are those who support the Queen without setting up rival courts.
He cites Princess Diana and Harry and Meghan as examples of royals who have tried to compete with the Queen and failed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary this week.
The couple tied the knot in 2018 after a courtship of almost two years.
They stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and now live in Montecito, California.
Despite missing out on the balcony appearance, fans are still hoping that Archie and Lilibet, along with the Queen's other great-grandchildren, will be granted the privilege in the future.
It remains to be seen whether or not the young Sussexes will attend any other official royal events during their visit to the UK.
For now, it seems that they will be enjoying a quieter life away from the public eye in California.
However, their return to the UK for the Jubilee celebrations is sure to be a momentous occasion for the entire royal family and their many fans around the world.
