Camilla Parker Bowles Shows Off Her Lavish Jewellery Collection in France

Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, is currently in France with her husband .

The royal couple was spotted attending a public event where showcased one of the luxurious pieces from her extensive jewellery collection.

The pearl necklace with a huge diamond clasp caught the attention of many onlookers.

The mother of two has an impressive collection of jewellery, which includes gifts from , pieces loaned by the Crown, and some given by foreign royals.

One of the most stunning additions to her collection is a set of demi-perures gifted to her by the Saudi royal family.

During a visit to Saudi Arabia in 2006, she received three enormous necklaces worth over £3 million, including a sapphire necklace, bracelet, and ring combination, as well as gifts with rubies and emeralds.

The ruby necklace, however, is perhaps the most lavish piece in her collection and could be worth more than £3 million alone.

It features over 100 carats of colourless diamonds and 37 oval mixed-cut, presumably Burmese rubies.

Despite owning such valuable pieces, it may come as a surprise to many that Camilla Parker Bowles will not be able to keep them.

In fact, any jewels accepted by royals during their official duties will be given to the monarch when they die.

This means that either Prince Charles or will likely be the monarch when these gems are passed on, and they will have a decision to make.

They could choose to keep the pieces for use, loan them to other members of the royal family, or incorporate them into the royal collection.

Failing that, they can be loaned or donated to an organisation, or even destroyed or thrown away.

However, it is highly unlikely that such valuable pieces will be discarded.

In an ITV documentary titled The Real Camilla, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, shocking details about Prince Charles and Camilla's affair were revealed.
