Catherine, the New Princess of Wales, Silences Meghan’s Claims with a Powerful Gesture
In recent news, Catherine, the new Princess of Wales, has shown us the power of staying silent.
In just over a minute, she managed to prove her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, completely wrong.
Last month, Meghan gave an interview to The Cut, a New York magazine, in which she talked about her experience as a HRH and made some claims about the British media.
One of her claims was that if Archie were in school in the UK, she'd never be able to do school pickup and drop off without it being a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people snapping pictures.
However, in a short 1 minute and 23 second clip of Catherine and her family dropping off their children at school, it is clear that Meghan's claim is completely false.
The Cambridges were met by only one designated camera person, one photographer, and one reporter.

There was no press pen of 40 people snapping pictures.
In fact, the family outnumbered the media.
This is because since Prince George started going to school, there has been an agreement between Fleet Street and Kensington Palace in place.
They agreed that sometimes William and Catherine would bring out the kids to be splashed across the front pages, and in return, the tabloids agreed that they wouldn't send people to photograph the children when they're just out and about when it's not planned.
While it's not ideal that parents have to make deals regarding their children's privacy, trading away a portion of their childhood for the greater good of a thousand-year-old institution, it makes sense to protect them from the dangers of an out-of-control press.
Both Prince Harry and Prince William have talked about the press that was always a part of their mother's life and their childhood as well.
In 2017, Harry said, “The damage for me was being a little boy aged 8, 9, 10, whatever it was, wanting to protect your mother and finding it very difficult seeing her very upset.”
At the end of the day, George, Charlotte, and Louis are still royals, so their childhoods will never be 100% normal.
Most normal kids aren't expected to stand on a palace balcony waving at the masses, and most royals don't need specially trained police officers to protect them, but at least they're not going to be harassed by the media.
William and Catherine's little deal with the paparazzi seems to be working out, as they're able to do normal things with their kids, like pop into the supermarket or play sports on the weekends.
If Harry and Meghan had chosen to stay in the UK, then their son Archie and their daughter Lilibet would also be covered by this agreement with the press, and the press would have to follow the rules that were set out by the Independent Press Standards Organization.
However, they chose to live in California, where they're free to make hundreds of millions of dollars worth of deals and talk about things like environmentalism and compassion.
Thanks to this decision, they might be facing a very different future when it comes to the press.
Meghan's comments about the press pen show her complete lack of self-awareness.
If they had remained in the UK, at least there would be some protections in place helping to make sure that Archie and Lilibet, seventh and eighth in line to the throne, would be able to walk out of their front door without being chased by paparazzi.
Catherine's powerful gesture of silence has proven that a lot has changed for royal kids ever since the 80s and 90s, which were really the wild, wild west in terms of the media.
It's pretty amazing what the new Princess of Wales can do in under two minutes, right?
In conclusion, it's important to remember that while the royal family may not be perfect, they are still human beings who deserve privacy and protection from the media.
Catherine's actions have shown us the power of staying silent, and we should all take note of that.
