Duchess of Cambridge Reaches Out to Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie Amid Prince Andrew Scandal

Following Prince Andrew's recent scandal, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has reportedly made a sincere gesture to ease the hurt feelings of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

The Duchess is likely to take over as the new Colonel of the UK's Grenadier Guards after the Duke of York was axed from the position this month.

The Duke of York lost his honorary position after the Queen stripped him of his HRH title, military and charitable affiliations, and banished him from using social media as he continues his legal battle to fight a civil lawsuit filed against him in the US.

Virginia Dufresne, 38, is asking the Duke of York for unspecified damages for allegedly abusing her when she was a teenager.

Andrew has denied the allegations.

Royal expert Neil Sean claims that the Duchess has reached out to Prince Andrew's two daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, to ask for their thoughts on the possible appointment.

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Mr Sean said that Catherine has reached out to Sarah Ferguson's daughters to talk about Prince Andrew's role in the Grenadier Guard.

While no official announcement has yet been made after the Duchess was confirmed as patron of the Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union, taking over from Prince Harry, Neil claimed that the Duchess is mulling it over and there are good reasons why.

He added that she doesn't really want to be seen hurting anyone's feelings and she had a very lengthy chat with someone very close to Prince Andrew because he does feel that the world is kicking in while he's down.

Once stripped, Andrew's patronages have been handed back to the Queen, who is set to redistribute them where she sees fit and with Catherine expected to receive one.

Sean explained the heartfelt way the Duchess has ensured she doesn't step on anyone's toes.

He continued, there's nothing more embarrassing than bumping into family members like Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie at an official function, knowing that you've taken a post of which their father truly enjoyed being part of.

What I'm told is that she reached out to Eugenie and Beatrice and asked their thoughts.

She has the support of Prince William but if she does take it, she will be making history.

The Grenadier Guards, founded in 1656 by King Charles II, have participated in practically every major British army operation, including the Napoleonic, Crimean, Boer, First and Second World Wars.

When Prince Andrew's father, the Duke of Edinburgh, retired from public life in 2017, Andrew took on the honorary role with the Grenadier Guards.

As for the lawsuit Prince Andrew is facing, the Duke's accuser, Virginia Dufresne, will be interviewed under oath in April as part of her civil claim against him.

It is understood the agreement for Ms Dufresne to be questioned by the Duke's lawyers, Andrew Brettler and Melissa Lennar, has now been struck and an exact date has been confirmed.

Andrew will also give evidence under oath on March 10 in London, in what has been described as a neutral location.

The Duke's deposition will be conducted by Ms Dufresne's lawyers, David Bowies and Sigrid Macaulay, and is reportedly expected to last two days.

Last month, court documents revealed that US Judge Louis A. Kaplan had written letters to the senior master of the Queen's Bench Division in the UK to request assistance in acquiring evidence from the civil claim filed by Ms Dufresne.

The judge asked for the royal's former assistant, Robert Olney, to be quizzed on topics such as Andrew's communications with Maxwell, Epstein and Ms Dufresne, and his travel to Epstein's homes.

The civil trial in the US is scheduled to take place between September and December.
