Duchess of Cambridge Attends Wimbledon Finals After Self-Isolation

The Duchess of Cambridge made a stunning appearance at the Women's Final of Wimbledon alongside her husband, Prince William, after self-isolating at home due to being exposed to Covid-19.

The Duchess looked radiant in a chic green midi dress with cap sleeves, complemented by white pumps and a blue floral face mask.

She even put on a pair of sunglasses that seemingly matched William's set during the match.

Sitting alongside her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, the Duchess appeared in high spirits as she watched Ashley Barty triumph over Czech Karolina Pilskova in three sets to win her first Wimbledon Championship title.

The Duke looked equally stylish in a linen blue suit and a navy tie.

The couple was occasionally seen sharing jokes and laughing together.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, presented the champion with her trophy alongside President of the All England Club, the Duke of Kent, as the crowd cheered.

It was the first time a women's single final has gone to three sets in 15 years.

Last week, the Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who had subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement, Kensington Palace said that the Duchess was not experiencing any symptoms but was following all relevant government guidelines and self-isolating at home.

She spent the following seven days isolating but returned to public engagements this afternoon at Wimbledon to watch the final.

However, there is confusion over the Duchess being out of quarantine already, despite only starting self-isolation on July 2.

According to current guidelines, the Duchess should have quarantined for 10 days after contact, which suggests it took place last Wednesday or June 30.

Kensington Palace said her self-isolation period will have finished by Saturday but did not confirm when it officially ended.

The Duchess is understood to have been alerted personally and was not pinged by the NHS Test and Trace app, leaving the All England Club at 5pm on Friday 2nd.

It is understood that the Duchess has received her second vaccination jab, with it being just over five weeks since pictures were released of her getting the first at the Science Museum in London.

Until Thursday, the guidelines stipulated an 11 or 12-week gap between jabs for under-40s, not classed as vulnerable, although in some cases a shorter wait was allowed.

Her 10-day self-isolation period includes the day on which she was last in contact with a person who tested positive.

If it was on Wednesday, she could, in theory, be free to return to official duties by the weekend.

This appearance at Wimbledon is not the first time the Duchess has attended the event.

She is known for her love of tennis and has been spotted attending the tournament on multiple occasions.
