Duchess of Cambridge Celebrates 39th Birthday in Low-Key Style

The Duchess of Cambridge recently celebrated her 39th birthday, but this year's festivities were different due to the ongoing pandemic and the current lockdown restrictions in Britain.

Despite this, Catherine managed to enjoy her special day with her family at their country home, Anmer Hall.

According to Vanity Fair, Catherine preferred a low-key celebration, spending time with her husband Prince William and their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.

The source revealed, “Being with William and the children is her favourite way of spending her birthday.”

The family spent the day enjoying a tea party organised by Prince William.

To mark her birthday, the Duchess showed her support for frontline workers battling the pandemic.

Kensington Palace shared a picture of her wearing a mask from last month's royal train tour, along with a message of gratitude for the NHS.

The post read, “Birthdays have been very different in recent months, and our thoughts continue to be with all those working on the front line at this hugely challenging time.”

The Queen, Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall also sent their well-wishes to Catherine on her special day.

The British Royal Family's official Instagram account shared two photos of the Duchess, one showing her in her role as joint president of the Scouts Association, and the other taken at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019.

Despite not being able to celebrate with her friends and extended family, sources close to the royal household say that Catherine is content with her quiet country life.

“Even if she were married to a banker, I don't think she would be very much different,” said the insider.

“She would have wanted to be a country mum and be in town occasionally.

I don't think she would have been living a very different life.”

The Duchess of Cambridge has always been known for her down-to-earth personality and welcoming nature.

“If you go round to her house, you get a cup of tea, and it's often William who makes it,” added the source.

“It's a lovely, welcoming house, not a fancy stuffy palace in any way.”

The Cambridge family is currently isolating at Anmer Hall, following the UK's third major lockdown.
