Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Considering Fourth Child, Sources Say

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently visited Clearthrow Community Hospital in Lancashire to show their appreciation for health staff who have faced unique challenges during the coronavirus pandemic.

During the visit, the couple met receptionist Trudy Barry and her husband Alistair, who introduced their baby daughter Anastasia to Catherine.

The Duchess was delighted to hold the infant, dressed in a pink and white outfit, and appeared reluctant to hand her back to her mother.

William joked with the crowd, “Don't give my wife any more ideas,” as Catherine cooed over the baby.

With three children at home, VIII, VI, and III, William sounded certain that his family with Catherine was big enough already.

However, like most couples, the Duke and Duchess are open to the idea of having more children.

Trending:

During their visit to Northern Ireland in February 2019, Catherine admitted to feeling broody as she met an adorable five-month-old baby.

When the baby's father asked about baby number four, Catherine laughed and said, “I think William would be a little worried.”

Similarly, during a visit to the town of Bradford in January 2020, Catherine told a royal fan that she didn't think William wanted any more children.

According to Stylecaster, Catherine was even considering trying for baby number four before the pandemic hit.

A source told US Weekly in February of last year that William and Catherine were officially trying for another child and were on the same page about growing their family.

“Having four children was always part of Catherine's plan,” the insider said.

“She put the idea on hold when the coronavirus pandemic hit.

But now there is light at the end of the tunnel with a vaccine and and are scheduled to return to school in April.

She feels ready to start trying again.”

The insider also revealed that Catherine has been feeling broody since news of her sister Pippa Middleton's pregnancy in December 2020.

The source added that Catherine is aware that the clock is ticking when it comes to having more kids.

William, on the other hand, took some convincing.

“It took a while for Catherine to convince William,” the insider said.

“He said that three children is more than enough.

The thought of having four made him feel overwhelmed.

But Catherine's desire to have another child has inspired him, and at the end of the day, he loves and appreciates the secure family setting he never had growing up.

Why not make it bigger?

After taking some time to think about it, he's on the same page and is excited about the future.”

The source also revealed that William's grandmother, II, is overjoyed about the news of them trying for another baby.

“She adores her great-grandchildren,” the insider said.

“She's slightly concerned that the Cambridges are biting off more than they can chew, especially as Catherine isn't planning to employ another nanny, as she wants to be hands-on.

As long as they're happy, she's happy.”

Catherine is reportedly hoping for another daughter, given her close bond with her sister Pippa.

“She wants Charlotte to have the same enjoyable experience to grow up with a little sister to confide in and look out for,” the insider said.

While the couple has not officially confirmed their plans for a fourth child, sources say they are excited about the future and the possibility of expanding their family.
