Harry and Meghan’s Netflix Documentary Sparks Outrage and Controversy
Netflix's new series, Harry and Meghan, is set to explore the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's controversial exit from the royal family.
While the documentary has been in the works for some time, the release of a one-minute trailer on Thursday has sparked fresh reactions from both fans and critics of the couple.
Some Netflix users have even threatened to cancel their subscriptions in protest.
Twitter users have been quick to voice their opinions on the matter.
One user, At Turnip Vindaloo, wrote, “Glad I cancelled my subscription now more than ever.”
Another user, Ambu Olga, simply stated, “Pass.
Trending:
This is just a show to support themselves.”
Meanwhile, Amijo 1983 expressed mixed emotions, saying, “I hate that I want to watch this.
What a mixture of emotions.”
However, not everyone is excited about the upcoming documentary.
Lord Ham Mercury asked, “How many times are we going to hear their story?
I've heard nothing but their story for two years at this point.”
Tom Godfrey, on the other hand, seemed to relish the drama, writing, “The way this is edited, it's a declaration of war and I love it.”
ALMC61, however, was not as amused, stating, “Think I'll need to cancel my Netflix subscription.”
On Reddit, some users have gone so far as to boycott the couple altogether.
One person wrote, “Cancelled my Netflix because of how petty they handled the announcement.”
Another user stated, “Watching Harry and Meghan slowly self-destruct while they spend all of their energy trying to ruin lives, trash their families and destroy a centuries-old institution, restores my faith in the old saying, ‘What goes around comes around.'”
In response to the documentary, Prince William is reportedly rushing back to meet with King Charles as the royal household prepares a swift and robust response to any potential allegations of racism put forward in Harry and Meghan's show.
According to The Sun, the King and Prince of Wales plan to present a united front against any such allegations.
Senior aides have confirmed that both His Majesty and William plan to watch all three episodes of the series so they can react as quickly as possible.
A source stated, “If there is a need to respond to anything in the upcoming series, then you can be assured that response will be swift and robust.”
The couple's decision to release the trailer just as William and Kate arrived in the US has been seen by some as a deliberate move to detract from the couple hosting the Prince's Earthshot Prize.
A senior source commented, “This trip was to pay tribute to the people of Boston for their generous hospitality and celebrate them alongside the Earthshot Prize finalists for making such a great stride in the race against climate change.”
Meanwhile, body language expert Adrian Carter has decoded the couple's behaviour in the trailer ahead of the release of their long-awaited documentary.
Carter said that Harry's body language suggested he and his family didn't feel protected by the system they were in while he and Meghan were working members of the royal family.
Meghan, on the other hand, appeared to lack confidence.
Overall, the release of the trailer for Harry and Meghan's new Netflix series has sparked outrage and controversy.
While some are eager to see what the documentary has in store, others have already decided to boycott the couple altogether.
As tensions rise between the Sussexes and the royal family, it remains to be seen what the future holds for both parties.
