Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Popularity Wanes in the UK as They Target US Audiences

and , the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have been developing their brand with a new audience since leaving the UK for the US last year, according to a royal commentator.

It has been suggested that the couple's popularity in the UK is waning, so they are instead turning to target audiences in the US.

The royal couple stepped down from their royal duties and moved to the US last year, setting up base in Montecito, Santa Barbara.

Since then, they have signed several big money deals with the likes of Spotify and Netflix, as well as making several TV appearances over the pond.

By leaving the UK, some experts suggest that the royal couple are attempting to build relationships with different audiences.

However, it seems that the Sussex's plan to target audiences in the US may not be succeeding.

As part of their multi-million Netflix and Spotify deals, they promised to make original content that will bring inspiration to the masses.

Harry is also working on his much-anticipated memoir, announced last month, set to be published next year.

While intrigue in the world of royal commentators abounds, a recent YouGov poll suggested that neither Britons nor Americans were much interested in the memoir.

According to the survey, released in July, just 9% of Americans said they were very interested in the book, while 16% said they were fairly interested.

In the UK, an even bigger proportion of those surveyed said they were not interested at all in the memoir, 67%.

Royal commentator Jonathan Sacerdotti spoke to the Royal E.U.S.

podcast and stated that he believes most people in the UK are pretty bored of Prince Harry and Meghan.

He added that he's not sure they're really aiming at the UK market in their actions and in all of the commercial deals they're making.

However, he stressed that there is still massive interest in all of the royal family.

Jonathan suggested that Harry and Meghan have really built their own brand and image stateside after leaving as working royals.

Reports suggest that Harry's family are anxious about the memoir.

His father, , and brother, , are said to be nervous about what it might contain.

Last month, a source close to the situation said the firm as a whole was shaken up by the announcement.

They told U.S. Weekly that Charles and William haven't received a copy yet and don't know what to expect, making them nervous.

Upon leaving the UK, the Duke and Duchess initially settled in Vancouver, Ireland in Canada.

However, earlier last year they resettled in Los Angeles before permanently residing in Montecito.

Since Meghan joined the royal family in May 2018, the couple have had two children.

Eldest child Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born in May 2019, while daughter Diana Mountbatten-Windsor arrived earlier this year in June.

It is currently unclear where will be christened, with some reports suggesting that it will only be a small gathering.
