Meghan Markle’s Claims About Niece Being Not Invited to the Wedding are Called a “Complete Lie”

In the new Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, there is one woman who hasn't been seen before, 's niece, Ashley Hale.

Ashley is the daughter of Meghan's half-sister, Samantha, and Thomas Markle's granddaughter.

She shared that she's a business immigration attorney who works at Fragerman, a company that focuses on immigration services in the San Francisco Bay Area.

However, some royal fans searched for a name as a practicing attorney in San Francisco, but there was no Ashley Hale able to practice law in California.

It appears that Meghan's niece may not be a practicing attorney after all.

Ashley reconnected with Samantha in 2007, and after that, Meghan got her email, and they started speaking.

The two grew close and were traveling together, including to New Orleans.

Meghan said that Ashley was like a little sister to her, yet because of Ashley's association to her biological mother, Meghan didn't want her life to be plagued by all of that drama.

Meghan claimed that she was advised by the palace's press team not to invite Ashley to her wedding in May 2018 as it would be difficult to explain why a niece was there and a half-sister wasn't.

However, a royal source called this claim a complete lie, branding it as a desperate attempt to have more family and friends at the wedding.

Ashley says that her biological mother is Samantha Markle, and it was agreed by everyone, by myself and my brother, to be raised by our grandparents.

So they got custody of us when I was probably around two years old, and ultimately they did adopt us.

So I was raised by my paternal grandparents.

For me, they were my parents.

She takes on a lot of roles for me.

There's a sister element, there's something maternal, Ashley shares.

She's a best friend, she's kind of all the things.

Meghan says that because of Ashley's association with her biological mother, she was put through quite a bit by the media, and she didn't want her life to be plagued by all that drama.

Ashley and Samantha stopped talking after the news broke of Meghan and Harry's relationship.

To know that it was because of her biological mother, that this relationship that's so important to me was impacted in that way, to feel like because of her it was taken away was hard, Ashley said.

Meghan claimed that she wanted to invite Ashley to her wedding, but the palace's press team advised against it.

The guidance at the time was not to have her come to the wedding, Meghan said.

A royal source, however, claimed that the press team was desperate for Meghan to have more family and friends at the wedding, branding her claims about a niece as a complete lie.

The docuseries Harry and Meghan features mostly familiar faces, friends of theirs who attended the wedding and have been in their orbit for years.

Yet, Ashley Hale is a new addition to the show.

She is Thomas Markle's granddaughter, the daughter of Meghan's half-sister, Samantha, and shares that she's a business immigration attorney.

Ashley works as an associate at Fragerman, a company that focuses on immigration services in the San Francisco Bay Area, per LinkedIn.

Before that, she was an associate attorney at Summer Immigration Law and a contract attorney for Capital One Bank.

Meghan claimed that she was never close to Samantha, yet Ashley Hale was introduced by Sam to Meghan in 2007.

Ashley shared that she was hurt on some level, but she understood where it was coming from when she was not invited to the wedding.
