Meghan Markle’s Lawyer’s Statement Upset the Royal Family

The Royal Family was reportedly upset by Meghan Markle's lawyer's statement on the BBC broadcast.

The lawyer appeared on BBC's documentary The Princes and the Press, which premiered on Monday.

According to a Royal commentator, the appearance of the Duchess of Sussex's attorney on the show somehow affected the Royal Family.

Royal commentator Victoria Howard has told Australian television that Meghan Markle's lawyer's defence of the Duchess in the BBC documentary struck a chord with the Royal Family.

“‘This narrative that no-one could work for the Duchess of Sussex, that she was too difficult or demanding a boss, and that everyone had to leave, is just not true,' says Jenny Ophian at ESA for part two of Princes and the Press.

Mrs Howard told ABC News Australia, ‘I think what has really, you know, struck a chord with the Royals to release the statement is that Meghan's lawyer was actually given air time to refute some of the claims that were made about her.

And secondly, it's kind of removed some of this mystique about the Royal Family, being a family and not just kind of being officers working together.

I think that that was the key thing that I took away from it.

But actually this is showing that everything isn't as rosy as we always think.'

She added, and actually, they are quite dysfunctional, more than we might normally imagine.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's lawyer appeared on the show to address the allegations that the Duchess was difficult to work with.

It tapped on the report from the Times newspaper claiming that Markle drove out two personal assistants and humiliated the staff, which she already denied.

However, the Royal Family wasn't pleased with the documentary.

According to some, they didn't like it because it somehow favoured Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Kensington Palace United and released a joint statement to let the network know how they felt about the documentary.

“A free, responsible and open press is of vital importance to a healthy democracy.

However, too often it is overblown and unfounded claims from unnamed sources that are presented as facts and it is disappointing when anyone, including the BBC, gives them credibility.”

It comes as Prince William and Kate's Royal Household, Kensington Palace, were alleged to have been behind an awful lot of leaking concerning the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Royal expert Robert Jobson has told Australian news outlet Sunrise that briefings on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had particularly come from Kensington Palace.

The recently aired BBC documentary The Princes and the Press contained allegations that Royal households were briefing the press against Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during their time in the Royal Family.

Sunrise host Natalie Barr asked Mr Jobson whether it was true that some of the Royal households had been leaking about Meghan and Harry.

Mr Jobson replied, “Without a doubt, I mean, yeah, absolutely, I mean, they can deny all they like until they are blue in the face nut there's been an awful lot of leaking from, particularly from Kensington Palace about how things were developing.”

The Royal households have reacted angrily to the new BBC documentary, with Buckingham Palace reported to be indignant.
